Strengths: Carrying case is made of real leather and closes with a velcro patch (which is a plus for people worried about scratching their Coolpix LCD screen on a zipper case). Fit is snug.

Weaknesses: Not a whole lot of padding. I actually went out and purchased a hard plastic case to protect THIS case for use on backpacking trips ... I also wish Nikon had included a shoulder strap.

Summary: (Edited December 07th by kapener) Nikon makes a more rugged case for these two cameras; the catch is that it is only available overseas. This one will do an adequate job protecting your camera from keys or lose change in your purse, but not much else.

Summary: there is little packet, so i can put my extra battery... it also very compact size, it is easy to carry around~!!
this nikon 5200 case is good enough for poeple who want to put the camera in their little bag or does not want to carry many heavy stuff~!!

Summary: (Edited May 03rd by kaolan) I bought this case for my Nikon Coolpix 5200. The leather material is certainly keeping the camera warm and fuzzy. It's soft, well made. The case has a good snug fitting for 5200 while also provides a pocket for an extra battery. It's a genuine Nikon product which has a Nikon name on the front of the case cover. A Nikon camera with a Nikon case, a perfect match.
The case is a little bit small to carry more than one battery and one memory card. The case could be bigger, and a little more padded/insulated for the protection of the camera. One other complaint is that the closure system is not zippered.
If you want to carry more gadgets, you would be better off with a gadget bag than this camera case, but if you want just a case, you won't do better than this one.

Summary: I bought this case for my Nikon coolpix 5200. I like this because it has just enough capacity to hold the camera. It can easily go into my pocket. It is made from soft genuine leather. It might not help if you drop it on the floor. Overall, I liked it.

Weaknesses: Sloppy work, poor design, no cushion, even no back-strap!

Summary: I bought this case with Nikon 5200 as a whole a gift to my girlfriend. But when I got it, I definitely changed my idea to include it in the gift.
I know I can't expect more for that price. But I was still disappointed with its ugly looking and poor design. It just can be used as a protect for your camera if you put it in your bag or purse. It is not designed for outdooring and sports guys.
Actually I found there is another very stylish Nikon sport pouch for 5200/4200, but it looks only sell in Japan.
