Strengths: Laserjet quality black print, sharp color prints. Price!
Summary: I bought this deskjet 5150 on the advice of the salesperson. I had actually wanted to buy a 3 in 1 photo printer/copier/scanner. I appreciated the salesperson being honest with me and pointing me toward the 5150. It will take the photo cartridge that the photo printers take, and it prints at LEAST a third faster than the photo printers with the same resolution! (4800 dpi) The salesperson could have easily talked me into a $200+ printer but instead steered me toward this exceptionally high quality printer for only $99.

Strengths: Cheap, fast, compact, great paper feed.
Weaknesses: It's only been one day you know.
Summary: You may not believe this, but I had the same experience as the previous reviewer. Since I have to write a min # of words I'll say I am happy the printer is relatively quiet. It's in my living room.

Strengths: ez install, #1 rating, flawless prints
Weaknesses: large size
Summary: The product has awesome prints. Was rated number one by a leading PC periodical (you will see this on the box), easy trouble free hookup on my XP configuration. The only flaw I found was that with the tray extended it is a bit large

Strengths: 6-color photo printing without photo printer price, borderless printing.
Weaknesses: HP ink more costly than Canon, tends to throw papers past the out tray unless stopper is extended
Summary: I'm very happy with the printer. For under $100 you get the same cartridges, print quality and features of HP's much more costly photosmart printers in a deskjet series printer. It prints borderless photos with traditional film quality quickly, with or without the optional photo cartridge for 6-color printing. It also features a power saving mode that only powers on the printer when you print a document.

Strengths: Print quality at draft setting is fine, while normal setting and above produces quite good results. Picture qulity is also high.
Summary: I needed a printer to replace my just broken-down HP882C. I have a separate printer for photos, a Canon S820, which produces photo-print quality. I needed one for letters, along with graphics that don't require photo quality. This printer, the HP5150, meets those requirements. The print quality is excellent, and the picture quality on regular paper is quite good. Having the printer for only one day, I have not had the chance to try it in it's photo-quality mode, and having the other printer, I might not ever. For the money, though, this printer more than does the job.
The only negative, as stated above, is the noise this printer makes. It doen't sound too solid, but I doubt that it isn't.
This printer is definetly worth the money.

Strengths: Great quality and speed for the price. Extremely easy to install and setup.
Weaknesses: no USB cable
Summary: I purchased the HP 5150 only a few days ago. I really compared this one to the HP 3650 and the price of ink made me choose this printer over it's cheaper, smaller version. From the time I unboxed it to printing the first test page took no more than 10 minutes. I had an old HP 694C before this so maybe any new printer would have been an improvement, but this printer is fast. I printed a letter in seconds and the quality is great. I'm still surprised I only spent $99 and received such a high quality device. Just for fun, I printed out a picture from my digital camera to an 8x10 sheet of photo paper. It actually turned out great and I'm going to frame that one for the wall. What can I say, it's fast, it's inexpensive and the clarity is wonderful! I'm lovin' my new printer. Of course, the only down side is that I had to provide the printer's USB cable. I realize that is part of what keeps the price down, but a cable is a necessary part of the printer and it still seems strange to me that it is not provided, at least the ink was part of the package. All in all, I think I made a good choice and I'd do it all over again.

Strengths: Easy to set up, good print output.
Weaknesses: Didn't come with a USB cable, slow printing.
Summary: I am forever sold on HP printers. They have served me well - I have two other printers as well. This one appears to be real solid and has good output, although it is a little slow. I had some problems with the drivers and had to uninstall them and reinstall from the web. That is the only reason that this gets 4 stars - otherwise, I would give it 5 stars. It is a great value (although print cartridges are always over priced, and a USB cable included would have been nice). HP has the best inkjets.

Strengths: Very fast and the best print quality on any printer I have ever had. Ink is very simple to load which is the best part about the printer for me, since I had many problems with Epson prior.
Weaknesses: No USB wire
Summary: Very fast and the best print quality of any printer I have ever had. Ink is very simple to load which is the best part about the printer for me, since I had many problems with Epson printers in the past where you had to press a button and nothing the printers never moved to the right spot to load. All you have to do it open the cover and the ink moves to the right spot to change the ink. I will now only buy HP printers because of the product.

Summary: The HP DeskJet 5150 Is a fine Inkjet Printer, Ive been using it for college and its blazing fast, alsmost like a laser printer, It's pretty quiet too, The only negative; Its pretty heavey, and it's quite large, but if you don;t move your printer around too much and you have some extra space in your dorm room its a perfect printer especially for this price, Make sure it comes with print cartidges.
