Leica Microsystems Inc. Introduces the New DFC 300F and DFC 350F Digital Cameras

Leica Microsystems is pleased to introduce the new DFC 300F and DFC 350F digital camera systems. The DFC 300F is a 1.3 Megapixel, cooled color digital camera that offers superior imaging for documentation and publication. The DFC 350F is a 1.3 Megapixel, cooled monochrome camera that offers near infrared sensitivity for analysis and quantification.

These two Mac-compatible cameras address the need for a series of high sensitivity digital cameras. Leica Microsystems' digital camera line is the most complete line of digital cameras assembled by a microscope manufacturer to address a full spectrum of customer needs.

The DFC 300F/350F offer 12 bits per color for precise image replication and the assurance that the most minute image details are acquired for accurate quantification. The DFC series cameras are built with the newest advances in CCD sensor design. Users benefit from high sensitivity in near-infrared wave lengths, for the purpose of reducing camera exposure times.

The new DFC series is integrated with an IEEE 1394 FireWire interface. The DFC line offers fast data transfer, direct input with a Mac notebook computer or desktop with out the need for a capture card and a new user-friendly software interface. The cameras are supported by a driver architecture specifically designed to optimize the power of the new OS X operating system.

With the integration of an advanced Peltier cooling system and compact camera design, the DFC 300F/350F achieve exposure times in excess of 10 minutes with increased dynamic range and greatly decreased noise.
