 Digital Camera provides real-time imaging.
October 1, 2002 08:39 - MegaPlus ES 4.0/E, with optional CameraLink? digital interface, incorporates 2,048 x 2,048 pixel CCD-based sensor. Camera captures up to 15 full frames per second with spatial resolution of over four million pixels. Suited for critical event monitoring, resolution-critical, and machine vision applications, camera identifies defects and discriminates between particles and scratches. It has 12-bit readout and electronic shuttering to 98 microseconds.
Redlake Announces 4-Megapixel MegaPlus? Model ES 4.0/E With Optional CameraLink? Digital Interface
SAN DIEGO, CA, August 24, 2002 - Redlake MASD, Inc. announces the MegaPlus ES 4.0/E, a high-performance digital camera combining very high resolution with real-time imaging and an optional CameraLink? digital interface. Incorporating a 2,048 x 2,048-pixel CCD-based sensor from Eastman Kodak, the ES4.0/E captures up to 15 full frames per second (faster in binning mode) with a spatial resolution of over four million pixels. The MegaPlus ES 4.0/E camera is specifically designed to digitally monitor critical events and provide images of superior quality.
"The MegaPlus ES 4.0/E is particularly ideal for resolution-critical applications such as digital radiography," says Groff Bittner, product manager for Redlake MASD, Inc. "The camera utilizes advances in large-format CCD camera technology, proprietary image processing and pixel-by-pixel calibration techniques to provide high quality images in an accessible digital format."
The MegaPlus ES 4.0/E is well-suited for sophisticated machine vision applications such as wafer inspection. With its ability to record images in minute detail at real-time speeds, the camera can immediately identify defects and discriminate between particles and scratches. In addition, a highly linear response to input illumination makes the MegaPlus ES4.0/E very useful in applications that require quantifiable behavior such as display panel inspection.
Other camera features include 12-bit readout, electronic shuttering to 98 microseconds, low noise output and uniformity of response across the entire image. An optional CameraLink interface is available for digital output and camera control.
The MegaPlus ES 4.0/E brings unprecedented performance to high-speed industrial applications. First customer shipments of production level MegaPlus ES 4.0/E cameras took place in August.
