Datacard Group Introduces Exclusive New Low-End Camera for Secure Id Photo Capture

Low-cost camera features an internal flash that works while tethered to a computer

Dallas, TX— September 27, 2004 — Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, introduced its exclusive new Datacard™ CS-100 digital camera today at the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Seminar and Exhibition in Dallas, Texas.

The CS-100 camera also solves a common problem faced by low-volume secure ID card issuers. “There are a number of low-end, low cost cameras on the market that have internal flashes that are automatically disabled when tethered to a computer,” said Schnaus. “Having a functioning flash when the camera is connected to the computer is a key requirement for ID card issuance, and the CS-100 camera meets this need,” he said.

Offered exclusively by Datacard Group, the CS-100 camera is not available in retail stores. The camera comes with a TWAIN driver that is available in 11 languages and is easily integrated with Datacard® ID software when using Microsoft® Windows® 98SE, Windows® 2000 Professional or Windows® XP operating systems. Also included are accessories that help complete a photo ID system setup: a USB cable, adjustable tripod, backdrop and stand.
