Manufacturer: Duracell
Model: CEF80NC : Number of User Reviews: 22 Reviewed by: docvenzon from IL on Apr 18, 2005 Rating: Experience: 1 Week Strengths: batteries included, relatively fast charger, can charge both AA and AAA, works with for 110V and 220V outlets Weaknesses: none Summary: I was travelling outside the US and needed a battergy charger that can be used with both 110V and 220V outlets. Most of the chargers I saw were only for 110-120V, but this one was rated from 110V to 240V so I snagged it. I already had rechargeable batteries, but the fact that this charger came with 4 AA batteries as well was a plus. I found this for $20 after $10 easy rebate, which was a pretty good price in my opinion, considering I needed it in a hurry and didn't have time to order it online. It charges relatively fast -- 1 hour. My old charger took 4 hours! It can also take both AA and AAA batteries. Although the directions for use say to only use it with Duracell brand batteries, I've been able to use it with other brands of NiMH batteries without any problems. I would rate this product overall a good buy, although you can probably get a similar product cheaper on the internet or at a popular online auction site. Reviewed by: pgupta011 from VA on May 16, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: Charges very quickly, can be used with both 110V and 220V so it is great for overseas travel, charges both AA and AAA batteries Weaknesses: Slightly bulky compared to the other charger I have. Summary: Staples had a great price on this item (charger plus 4 AA batteries) - with coupon it was $20 minus a $10 easy rebate. The battery charges very fast as advertised. Each battery has a LED indicator indicating when it is charged. Overall a great product. Reviewed by: tianxianwawa from OK on May 12, 2005 Rating: Experience: Strengths: cheap and batteries included, fast Weaknesses: size is a little big Summary: It is a very good battery charger. But a little big. Also four 1800mAh rechargable batteries are included. I bought them for my digital camera. I have a Sanyo charger before. They are both very good. Well-made. And the batteries are definitely better than the Sanyo batteries I owned before. I really recommended them. It is worth the money. Reviewed by: sellmen from OH on Nov 23, 2004 Rating: Experience: 1 Weeks Strengths: Comes with high capacity 2050mah batteries. Quick charger, fully charges batteries in one hour. Weaknesses: None Summary: I use this this charger kit for my digital camera, and it works very well. The batteries included are high capacity 2050mah Duracell cells. I find that I can get off several hundred pictures before the batteries are drained. The charger is very quick, the cells are fully charged in one hour. Overall, a well priced NiMH set from Duracell. Reviewed by: jessieqwert from PA on Dec 22, 2004 Rating: Experience: 5 Days Strengths: Fast charging, high power Weaknesses: None yet Summary: I chose this charger for my dad because I had good experiences using Duracell batteries in my Maha charger. I was pleased to see the Duracell charger seems to work on par with the Maha. Reviewed by: TIRETIREE on May 18, 2005 Rating: Experience: 10 Days Strengths: Performance as advertised. Weaknesses: None significant. Summary: Charge state is apparently monitored by microprocessor since charge time varies from cell to cell in same set being charged. Overall quick charge cycle although cells do heat up considerably. In my opinion, this product is a good value for the net price Reviewed by: alaazz from MA on May 16, 2005 Rating: Experience: 12 Days Strengths: really fast: in about 45 minutes fully charged my 2300 and 2050 batteries. can charge 4 AA or 4 AAA at the same time. worldwide input for 100-240V. four lights to indicate each cell . Weaknesses: If they can put AC and charger in one unit, that will be much more convenient Summary: Summary: I like this charger very much and put my other 3 chargers into box. But I am not happy with their poorly designed product description: 1. "Charge Duracell batteries only", I hate this kind of monopoly, it is like a DVD burner manufacturer saying that you should only use my DVD, a bowl maker telling that you can only use it for noodle, not for rice. 2. What's "abnormal conditions"? over-heating, bad cells, or other possible things? 3. What will happen when green lights are on? automatically cutting off or doing trickle charge? Should I remove cells at once or put them there for best condition? 3. How do the charger find that cells are fully charged? (If I have 1800 mah or 2300 mah cells) I could not get answers for these questions, I hope they could improve their description later. Reviewed by: pkiefert from MD on May 11, 2005 Rating: Experience: 7 Days Strengths: great price deal at Staples Weaknesses: none that I have noticed Summary: this is my first fast charge type charger and NiMh type batteries and I was really impressed with how fast the batteries go from zero charge to full charge. The charger has bright red LED's for each battery and they turn green when done. Impressive light display! I would give it five stars if it also did AAA batteries so I wouldnt have to buy a seperate charger for those. I use these batteries in a digital camera. Reviewed by: dlwang from KY on May 10, 2005 Rating: Experience: Strengths: portalbe, easy use, supporting 110-240v Weaknesses: no cover Summary: I just bought this Duracell AA/AAA Charger kit with 4 rechargerable AA batteries from staples. We were going through one pack of 24 AA regular batteries every 3-4 weeks and I saw this one on sale at staples. I took the pludge and decided to buy it with a few extra packs of batteries. We go through so many batteries in our house with the children and so far these batteries have lasted an entire week on one charge. My daughter who is 2.5 carries her VideoNow Jr. around with her religiously and this was the one electronic that we kept going through so many batteries with. Also my digital camera is still on the same set of rechargeables for a week also. This was the best $30 I have ever spent and hopefully this will save us money in the longrun. This is also a very sleek eye appealing charger. It's small and compact, ideal for travel, and has a worldwide voltage of 100-240V. Lastly, there is a light that turns on when charging and it has an automatic shut off when the batteries are fully charged. Takes 1-2 hours for each charge. Reviewed by: cvssimon from OH on May 10, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Weeks Strengths: small , easy to use , smart and fast charger , good for world travel because of the dual voltage 110 to 240 v . Reviewed by: sanjitroy from NJ on May 8, 2005 Rating: Experience: 5 Days Strengths: Fast charging. Comes with 4 AA batteries. Weaknesses: None so far for the price paid Summary: Bought this charger mainly because i was travelling to Europe and needed a charger that works on the 220 volts. This has been an excellent charger. I've owned other chargers that required about 4-5 hours to charge. This one is as good as any of the other more expensive chargers. Can't go wrong with the Duracell brand. Price paid for this is $10 after rebates. Reviewed by: shouyi from OK on May 8, 2005 Rating: Experience: 3 Days Strengths: Pretty quick charging - 1 hour. Battery is not warm to the touch after charging. support 110 and 240volt. Good for travel. Weaknesses: Wish the battery has a little high capacity - say 2400. Summary: I'm not sure batteries still need discharge before recharging. Didn't see this feature there. My old MH C204 has that feature. But batteries started getting pretty hot in my Maha charger. Also would like to get something more compact for travel. Price is OK with Staples's rebate & coupon. Plus it's Duracell. Reviewed by: michellepeng from PA on May 6, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: quick charger, compact Weaknesses: none Summary: it is much better than my pervious duracell quickcharger. it has Dual Voltage. and it is not so hot when charging. so my batteries can live longer. Duracell is a trusted name in the battery industry and this will not dissapoint. I have been a Duracell user for several years now and not failed me yet Weaknesses: Price is a little high for this product now that the 30 minute chargers are out, they should consider dropping the price on these to be more competitive with their cheaper and cheap counterparts. Summary: This charger is exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier. The overnight chrgers are a pain when you need to use your electronic equipment right away. This will fit the bill for any users Reviewed by: azygous1 from OH on May 4, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Weeks Strengths: One Hour Means One Hour to charge all four batteries. I looked at some other 'quick chargers' and found that as the number of batteries being charge increases, from two to four say - the time required for charging increases as well. I looked at a Kodaka Weaknesses: the battires get very hot very quickly...but happy with the price Summary: I have these batts and charger and they will last about 4 hours in my digital camera with zoom and with the viewfinder on. They will last about 2 months in my wireless optical mouse, which with regular batts only lasts about 3 weeks. So I would say they were good batts. I paid about $27 (no rebates obviously) at wal-mart for the charger and 4 batts. Reviewed by: draju from MI on May 4, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: 1. It charges really quick. 2. Comes with high capacity 2050mah batteries. Weaknesses: Should have also packed the AAA batteries along with it too. Summary: I chose this for my Sony Digital Camera as the ones that came with them are not good and have a low capacity. I tried these on the camera and was very happy with the life of the charge and also the speed of charge to my flash. Overall, a well priced NiMH set from Duracell. Reviewed by: yeling from IN on Apr 25, 2005 Rating: Experience: 30 Days Strengths: it is Duracell! Charges fast. Includes 4 rechargeable batteries. Weaknesses: Gets pretty hot when charging so be careful. Summary: In general this is a very good charger kit. I'd recommend it to anyone. My experience shows that it charges really fast. Many times actually under 1 hour (more like 40 minutes). But the batteries included are kind of out-dated (being only 1800mAh). Then again it should be enough for average digital camera usage, more than enough for everyday usage. |
