Average user reviews: Description:The HNC320W Wireless Network Camera is a high performance standalone camera system with its own built-in CPU and web server, thereby providing an ideal solution for remote monitoring, surveillance, or sending live video over the Internet. T.Reviewed by: kaleberg from WA on Oct 10, 2004 Rating: Experience: 10 Days Strengths: Not too expensive. Very flexible. Set it up and go. Weaknesses: NA Summary: This is a nice little web camera that was trivial to set up on a vanilla 802.11a/g network. We had just gotten our satellite modem installed and wanted a camera to so we could keep an eye on our remote site. We configured this camera to upload FTP images to the web, and it works as advertised, with good picture quality. We haven't checked out using it as a server, or its send pictures as email option, but we appreciate the flexibility. It does just what we wanted, and it does it rather well. Reviewed by:Reviewed by: countd4 from AR on Oct 26, 2004 Rating: Experience: 7 Days Strengths: Fairly easy to set up, works as advertised Weaknesses: image quality only so-so. Summary: It does what I want, which is to be a wireless 802.11b remote security webcam for my house. Ultimate image quality was not a real important need, but I am somewhat disappointed with the image this unit produces even at low compression and frame rate. I wish the unit would put a time/date stamp on the image so you could tell when the image was made. It has a clock on it that syncs with a time server, so it would seem easy to do. However, it uploads images to my website just fine, which is what I wanted anyway. So if you want a fairly easy to use wireless webcam, this is a unit to consider. |
