The Korean Government is carrying out the project to build 10 million digital homes, 61% of all households in Korea, by investing KRW 2 trillion by 2007.  The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) plans to carry out the Intelligent Home Network project in two phases. The KT consortium and SKT consortium were selected at the end of 2003 as the leaders of the first phase pilot project and are currently in implementation.
