IQinVision Announces LIGHTGRABBERTM

Breakthrough extreme low light performance for IQeye smart camera systems.

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. May 27, 2004 Responding once again to market demands, IQinVision has added LIGHTGRABBER (TM) technology for extreme low light performance in their ultra high resolution IP cameras. Already featuring high quality HDTV images and now offering excellent performance under difficult lighting situations the IQeye line of intelligent camera raises the bar on high performance.

Featuring enhancements to the sensor, FPGA, and firmware algorithms, LIGHTGRABBER technology performs well in exterior scenes at night, interiors dimly lit by flashlight, and other problem exposure circumstances with light levels as low as 0.3 lux, offering low light performance that is truly incredible.

Special IR sensitive monochrome versions of the IQeye cameras are also available. When combined with LIGHTGRABBER technology, high quality images can be captured using light sensitivity better than the human eye.

The optional IQnightlight software product is also announced at this time. IQnightlight provides specialized exposure tools for capturing vehicular or pedestrian lane-based traffic under illumination at night. Normal cameras have difficulty capturing correctly exposed images when lights shine on a subject that passes through a dark scene. This is typical of a traffic lane at night. The background is not illuminated, when no subject is present a normal camera will attempt to expose for this dark scene. When the vehicle enters the scene, it is dramatically over-exposed, resulting in video with a blown out subject, and no detail. By offering specific user controls of the exposure algorithms, IQnightlight allows the installer to predetermine correct exposures. The IQeye camera running IQnightlight will take correct exposures even under circumstances where lighting values undergo rapid and dramatic shifts in light. Subjects are rendered with even exposures, rich in detail and visual information. Even license plates can be correctly exposed at night using IQnightlight and the exposure window controls found in the IQeye3 series of smart camera systems.

LIGHTGRABBER technology will be offered for no additional charge in the upcoming IQeye600 series and other new IP cameras offered by IQinVision. IQnightlight is offered at a list price of $195 and is available immediately.
