Description:The 512MB JumpDrive Sport features a durable rubber cap that wraps securely around the device, making it more impact-resistant and protecting the cap from accidental loss. The rubber cap also allows the flash drive to be securely attached t.Reviewed by: mtblue21 from NJ on Dec 28, 2004
Experience: 10 Days
Strengths: Great portibility, easy usage, strong cap, and highly stable.
Summary: The 512MB JumpDrive Sport USB Flash Drive allows me to carry it everywhere. Also, I can store a lot of different types of files. For an example, I am able to store a lot of music. I also store photos. It is very slick. If I had more money, I would purchase more.

Weaknesses: It broke after I had it for only about two weeks and I lost some important files
Summary: Absolute trash. If I could give this USB Drive zero stars for a rating, I would gladly do so. I don't see what all the hype is about Lexar. Do not buy this drive!

Strengths: The shape and size of the device, a positve closure cover, and ease of use make this a valuable addition for any sort of file transfer and/or storage.
Weaknesses: I haven't found any
Summary: I have one of these. No configuration needed, drag and drop or save to this device easily. I mostly bring files and small folders back and forth from work and/or school. I used to either use zip drives (not always available at all out locations) or burn CD's.
This is a great alternative and all I use it now for transporting data from location to location. One day this is all you will have or need. Of course they have to get a little bigger!

Strengths: Solid performance, nice cover protects well against falls. Easy to use.
Weaknesses: No encryption or security protection.
Summary: Great performance and strong physical design. You can drop the flash drive and not have to worry about damaging it. Is detected among many different pcs and servers and different platforms including Linux and Windows. Would be nice to have security features such as password protection or encryption.

Strengths: Nice cap-less design; protective rubber around the plastic body; low price (with rebate)
Weaknesses: In-use light hard to see; plastic body
Summary: This is comparable to a SanDisk Mini Cruzer that I also own. The actual drive is similiar to the SanDisk except that when plugging into the front USB ports of my Dell desktop, I cannot see the in-use light of the Lexar drive. The SanDisk has a large light at the end of drive that is viewable in any position while the Lexar only has a small LED on one side of the body.
What makes this a nice drive is the unique rubber banding that surrounds the edge of the unit, serves as the USB cap, and protects the drive from minor shocks/bump. The band is not hard to remove, but it remains to be seen how well the rubber stands the stress of being stretched over time. As with all flash drives, I do not rely on them as primary storage since their plastic bodies are not particularly durable. They are only convenient for travel and temporary storage.
Currently (1/05) there is a rebate available for this product making it a good buy compared to other name brand key drives.
