Average user reviews: Description:This JumpDrive Secure portable USB storage features 512MB, 2.0 Flash memory. The JumpDrive Secure is rugged and durable, designed to withstand the rigors of daily life. You can password protect your confidential data with JumpDrive Secure s.Reviewed by: namgia from FL on Nov 8, 2004 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: No driver needed, fast, Easy to plug in, good price Weaknesses: Clumpsy cap Summary: The plastic cap is not well designed when you need to close the drive. It has to be slotted in correctly. Good things that it has a key ring and it does fit with other USB plugs next to it. It works with USB 1.1 as well as USB 2.0 - Becareful when you need to re-size the secure area on the disk; you have to back it up some place else before it's erased. Reviewed by: whiteclaw1956 from CA on Nov 3, 2004 Rating: Experience: 2 Weeks Strengths: Security, Keytag, Small, Rubber Grips Weaknesses: none Summary: (Edited November 04th by whiteclaw1956) As an IT Administrator I am always put with the task of finding the most effective, end user friendly, and cost efficient equipment. This unit offers alot in speed and a simple setup with the security password feature as long as you are running an NT based operating system. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about> > Windows NT, 2000, and XP Versions. I liked the fact that you can decide how much space you want to password i.e. 200MB with a secure password and the rest is open. The only downside is that they don't make a USB 1.0 supported version for those order PC's. Reviewed by: jhatachote from NY on Oct 22, 2004 Rating: Experience: 10 Days Strengths: super fast Weaknesses: not found yet Summary: Even though I have got this product only 10 days, I have done many jobs that make me appreciate having this jump drive!! There is a lot of space for my file work.. up to 512mb and it works super fast!! Before getting this one, I just use the normal storage but it was not so convenience. For this product, I can even take it wiht me in my pocket .. need almost no space!!! but I can transfer a lot of document files in this small jump drive!!! only one word left...incredable!! Reviewed by: mudfoot from MA on Dec 3, 2004 Rating: Experience: 2 Weeks Strengths: Secure drive ! Weaknesses: A little bulky by current standards Summary: Works great - no problems. Security is an excellent feature. A little bigger than some other styles (sport or sandisk models), but less likely to disappear. Reviewed by: jay72 on Nov 23, 2004 Rating: Experience: 2 Weeks Strengths: Secure, the amount of space, the division of space, light weight. Weaknesses: Size doesn't always fit next to another used USB Port Summary: It has brought so much ease to my life. As a desktop support, I¡¯m always trying to help people transfer files, programs, and other things from one pc to another. This jumpdrive can help backup these files and programs and have the encryption ability to assure it doesn't get in the wrong hands. What did I ever do without it? Reviewed by: genester from CA on Jan 2, 2005 Rating: Experience: 7 Days Strengths: Built in software and security. Weaknesses: Bulky Summary: I really liked this jumpdrive for its security software and ability to partition multiple drives. The only problem is the bulkiness that hinders other drives to attach to adjacent usb slots. Reviewed by: alielle on Nov 30, 2004 Rating: Experience: 3 Days Strengths: secure, ability to divide the space, ease of use Weaknesses: not very small, cap comes off easily Summary: This is a great USB drive because you can password only a section of it. 512MB is decent space for what I need it to do, and this drive performs well. I haven't had a problem with it so far, and I don't think I will. Reviewed by: cindy0586 from CA on May 4, 2005 Rating: Experience: 20 Days Strengths: Easy to use Weaknesses: NA Summary: It is a very durable product. Light-weighted and easy to use. The price is also pretty good after rebate offer. I have no problem to use this product at all! Reviewed by: liuspring on Apr 29, 2005 Rating: Experience: 4 Weeks Strengths: easy plug-in-and-out desigh, security Weaknesses: size problem, it makes access to the adjacent usb port difficult Summary: Handy product as it is, this product is portable and light, which canbe put in your pocket wherever you go without feeling extra weight.Secure product as it is, this secure flash drive has a a simple setup with the security password feature as long as you are running an NT based operating system.I am not doing the advertizement, but truely, i like this product in these two aspects. However, its size seems to be its flaw. When this unit is plugged in my computer, i cannot use the other USB port easily unless i unplug it and let the other device get access to the port first. Reviewed by: davey281 from CA on Apr 28, 2005 Rating: Experience: Strengths: Very easy plug and play device. Weaknesses: Thickness of device does not allow for easy access to adjacent usb ports. Summary: The lexar jump drive secure is an OK device. I bought it for the security features that allow for the partitioning of sensitive information. However, I did have one problem with a computer crash when I did not exit the jump drive software when unplugging the device. A small hassle but not enough for me to change my positive review of the product. Reviewed by: kzoller from MA on Feb 21, 2005 Rating: Experience: 3 Days Strengths: Compact, easy to use - Windows XP recognized without problems Weaknesses: Nothing significant - the cap seems a little flimsy Summary: Performs as advertised. This is my first experience with USB compact flash devices and I can see why they have become so popular - No more stacks of floppy disks. I ended up paying only ~$25 after various store (OfficeMax) and other rebates. Reviewed by: seuang from PA on Jan 28, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Months Strengths: very fast file transfer for usb Weaknesses: do not work on win98 without drivers and is a little to big to fit in tight spaces Summary: This drive is very handy. I use it for file transfer from work, school, friends, and family. This drive also works on mac. Very convient to plug and go. The only problem i ran into was on older computers. The drive is too big to fit into the usb ports that are located under the mouse and keyboard ports. Other than that, i would definitely buy another one. Reviewed by: anchoi123 from KY on Jan 11, 2005 Rating: Experience: 2 Days Strengths: huge capacity, looks nice Weaknesses: the case is easy to get scratched from the outside, only 491MB though Summary: I am a student who do not require much about the bigger cappacity, I think 512MB is too much for me, but for this price you cannot beat that, the drive overall is good so far, it fits almost all the USB port so far too, so generally I recommended !! Reviewed by: gavinldc on Dec 26, 2004 Rating: Experience: Strengths: NA Weaknesses: NA Summary: absolutely love my JumpDrive. I'll never need a floppy disk again. I use it to store just about everything I'm currently working on so I can access my files no matter where I am - home, work or anywhere there's a computer. I only have two complaints. For some reason, the cap fits better in one direction than the other, but there's no way to tell by looking. And it's inevitable that I'll lose the cap one day. On the positive side, it seems very sturdy. I like that the keychain ring is metal instead of plastic. I've pretty much abused it by throwing it in my purse, pockets, and laptop bag. It still works like a charm. It's easy to use and transfers files quickly. Reviewed by: lynnwu from CA on Dec 16, 2004 Rating: Experience: 10 Days Strengths: Lots of room Weaknesses: Not enough to back up ALL my files and programs Summary: I bought this thinking I could back up all my files since 512MB sounds like a LOT of space, but it's not enough space. It's still a good flash drive with a lot of space. Nothing fancy, but reliable ... so far! The secure option is nice for all your secret files! Reviewed by: chen168 from IL on Dec 12, 2004 Rating: Experience: 20 Days Strengths: Very reliable, fast and also lots of space to store Weaknesses: None at this time Summary: I use it alot to store photos and big documents from work. Although my personal PC is a 1.0 USB, my work PC is 2.0 ans you can see the difference. Very reliable, fast and small. The cap makes it easy to carry with your key chain Reviewed by: memoska from WV on Dec 10, 2004 Rating: Experience: 20 Days Strengths: fast, small, big capacity, secure Weaknesses: none so far Summary: this is really good usb storage device. it has secure password option. and lots of space. great deal for theprice.
