Panasonic introduces the industry's only cordless telephone system that can arm and disarm an ADT electronic security system. While the Panasonic KX-TG2970B cordless telephone system may look and work like any standard cordless telephone system, its capabilities are like no other. With this new model, users can activate and deactivate an ADT security system from the telephone's base or any of its portable, cordless telephone handsets and can provide two-way, direct communications to ADT in an emergency. The new system is scheduled to be available this month.
"By joining forces with Panasonic, a leading brand in the consumer electronics field, ADT has made its security systems even easier to use," said Mike Snyder, president of ADT Security Services, Inc. "This product essentially turns the Panasonic phone system handset into an additional in-home ADT security system alarm keypad, giving consumers the ability to operate their security system from almost anywhere in their home.
The KX-TG2970B features three one-touch buttons for easy access to ADT's Customer Monitoring Center, where trained professionals can notify the fire or police department or Emergency Medical Services, in the event of an emergency. After purchasing the Panasonic cordless phone, users need to subscribe to the ADT security system and service that best fits their needs1. Once ADT completes the security system installation, users would have the benefits of the system at their fingertips.
Known as the SecurityLink? PlusTM cordless phone system, the new model also adds a two-way voice feature to a standard alarm system. When an alarm is received at the ADT monitoring center, an ADT representative can activate the speakerphone connections and communicate with users in the home.
"The Security Link Plus phone system also enables retailers to market ADT's security service in their stores which is an innovative marketing approach by ADT and Panasonic,? said Frank Lasorsa, merchandising VP for Panasonic's Communications/Home Office Products Division, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
Steve Gribbon, Vice President of Residential Sales and Marketing for ADT Security Services, Inc. said the telephone system will enhance a user's ability to access their security system functions.
"After an alarm signal is sent to and received by ADT, the customer monitoring center professional can access the speaker to help evaluate the situation and stay on the line to talk with the customer until authorities arrive," Gribbon said. "This Panasonic phone system is ADT's latest offering to make our security systems even more convenient to use."
This cordless telephone model is simple to set up and program, and also features a 2-in-1 design including a corded telephone on the base unit and a cordless phone in a separate, stand-up recharging base.
For user protection, ADT's power supply will continue to power the telephone system in the case of a blackout. Result: in an urgent situation, users can contact the appropriate emergency personnel.
The KX-TG2970B cordless telephone system is for use with a single phone line and can interact with up to three cordless handsets. Convenient features available to each handset include Call Waiting, Caller ID for use with the Caller ID service that may be available through the local telephone company, 50-station Caller ID memory and Dialer, as well as a 50-station phone directory for each handset user.
Other product highlights include: a built-in All-Digital Answering System; speakerphone on the base and each handset; up to five-way conferencing between the handsets or external calls; four-line, backlit LCD on the included handset; and a 2.5mm headset jack for use with an optional headset.
"As leaders of their respective fields, ADT and Panasonic are jointly defining the next generation of Cordless Telephones and Security Systems by merging the two into one useful application," said Mike Roshandel, new business development manager, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "This is truly a revolutionary product."
