Strengths: Quality of photo prints. Easy set up. Cost of ink is pretty much in line with others. Seprate ink tanks. The card reader can be used with any photo programs( Adobe, ACdsee,Paint shop pro)

Weaknesses: None

Summary: I looked at all major printer companies, they all looked pretty good, I narrowed it down between the Epson and Canon because of the seperate ink tanks, I chose Epson because the genuine Epson paper was much cheaper than the canon paper. I know that I could have bought an off brand paper but I have always heard that if you use the paper desined for your printer you will get better results. I can buy a 100 pack of 4x6 high gloss Epson paper for right under 15.00, the others were at least twice that much.

Strengths: USB, color - 6 cartridges, quiet, not only a printer but also a card reader, don't need to turn on the computer to print pictures

Weaknesses: so far nothing, ink will always be on the expensive side when it comes to photo printers

Summary: I have been looking for a new printer since my ALPS 1300 (dry ink photo printer) was discontinued years ago. I am very picky when it comes to photo printers. Inkjets have gotten better and the quality has improved. When it comes to photographs and graphics, the quality is great just like getting it developed at the store. For the price, its definitely satisfactory. If you want something much better, then you have to pay more. I definitely can say that pictures that I print out for whatever reason, people say its amazing what a printer can do nowadays.

Separate ink cartridges may run you some $, but compared to combo cart., you eventually save money. Plus separate carts. are a plus for good quality printing besides the picoliter of ink used.

This is just my opinion. I recommend the R300 especially if you want an affordable printer that can do all these things. I paid $163 for it and got my money worth.

Weaknesses: Not able to do prints above 8x10

Summary: Extraordinary printer for the price. Does outstanding prints, uses same printer technology that the 2200 does for one seventh of the price. Hard to beat

Its always amazing to me that two users of an identical
printer and come up with exactly opposite conclusions;
One of its STRENGTHS is separate ink carts.
Many times I had to throw away a combo color cart when
just cyan is empty but yellow & magenta are nearly full.
Wastefull and more expensive...
Oh well, to each his own!(?)

Strengths: Very quiet, clean crisp text, 6 ink cartridges, beautiful photos. Plug and use (USB)

Weaknesses: None so far.

Summary: I Bought this to replace a very noisy Epson 785 EPX that was having problems grabbing only sheet of paper at a time. It is a very good choice as was the 1670 scanner from Epson.
