Product Description

The Remmington Security 14165 14-inch Color Quad Monitor Security System with 4 Cameras provides convenience and quality in a complete system. This system allows you to view multiple camera locations sequentially in real-time in a full-screen display, or simultaneously in quad-display mode. With four cameras included in the package, the Remmington Security 14165 is a complete, self-contained observation system perfect for your home or small-business applications.

The 14165's 14-inch color picture-tube monitor not only provides you with a crisp picture at 380 horizontal TVL (TV lines) of resolution, but also includes an integrated switcher that allows sequential viewing of its four camera inputs with user-selectable dwell times ranging from two- to 20-seconds. This unit features built-in RCA-style video input/output jacks for recording purposes, and a built-in alarm function. The four cameras that come with the 14165 utilize 3.8-millimeter lenses and provide a horizontal resolution of 450 TVL (TV lines). These units can receive a picture at a minimum illumination of 0.2 Lux for low-light viewing to infinity, and feature six built-in IR (InfraRed) LEDs (light emitting diodes) for no-light viewing within a limited distance. The 14165's cameras also feature automatic iris shutters, and include 60-foot connecting cables.

Technical Features:

  • Auto-switcher dwell times: selectable from 2 - 20 seconds
  • Camera lenses: 3.8 mm auto-iris
  • Sensitivity: minimum illumination of 0.2 Lux
  • Horizontal resolution: 380 TVL for monitor, 450 TVL for cameras
  • Camera support capacity: up to 4 cameras
Designed primarily for indoor use, the Remmington Security 14165 offers you everything you need in a basic surveillance system. This system is intended for use with a professional security recorder, such as a time-lapse VCR or a DVR, in order to take advantage of its recording functionality. Users should note that the image sensors in these cameras may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the cameras should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
