These batteries lasted all day and night long as I was trying to capture a lightning storm at 3AM in the morning in the Dominican Republic. Great product!...more info
  • A great battery/charger combo
I bought this for my canon sx10 and with just a 5hour charge i was able to take close to 400 pictures and 30minutes of movie with it.

This is a very good battery and the price is reasonable as well. I would surely recommend this....more info
  • Good for the price
    Pros: Cheap, durable
Cons: Taking almost 7 hours to charge

If charging time is not a problem for you, this is an excellent product to buy....more info
  • works fine but take 8 hours to charge
I needed some rechargable battries so I bought them quickly from amazon because these battries had good rating. They work fine as promised but if I knew it takes 8 hours to charge these battries I would not have bought them. The reason I gave this battery two starts is because I think now a days no one should be buying a battery whict takes more than an hour to charge....more info
  • Good Batteries
The batteries I ordered work fine and I like how the charger can work in all outlets around the world. A good purchase....more info
  • Excellent
Well, I bought this charger for its shear brand name add to that four free batteries. The items are performing as specified and also order reached ahead of time. I am satisfied. Hope you you too will....more info
  • Recharge it in US as well as in India
I bought this especially for my canon digital camera. It has been doing the job fine. Sometimes I feel, it takes more time. Little bit expensive though. A plus point, it can be used in US as well as India Pins with adapter....more info
  • 2500 mah At your Finger Tips
This particular setup works best for batteries that don't get a lot of action.
In about 2.5 hours batteries are fully charged and at the ready....more info
  • After 10 recharges, batteries don't hold much juice.
I have used this product for over a year, and after about 10 times charging them in the charger, batteries will not last more than 2 weeks even if they are not user at all, if I charge them and use them for a week and take about 20-30 pictures, batteries are then dead....more info

Not of enough use. You charge for 6-7 hrs and you end up in 15 mins...more info
  • Sony Power Battery Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries
Great price for a quick charger plus Sony batteries. I buy 4 extra batteries and never run out of battery power in all my items.... wall clocks, remotes, talking clock, solar yard lights and my grandsons plug n play toys. Batteries last for years of recharging. I have had the same ones for 2 years still charging and recharging. I will never go back to using regular batteries. When I get more stuff I just buy a couple more packs of Sony rechargeables. Its Great! ...more info
  • Useless after less than a year
I bought these batteries in Nov. 2006 for use with a Canon Power Shot A530.

For the past several months, maybe going back to August or September 2007, I've barely used my camera because the batteries can't hold a charge. At first, even sooner than that time, it was just that you charged all 4 and then the 2 that didn't go in the camera drained quickly. It was pointless having 2 pairs because you would go to put your backup pair in the camera and they were dead.

Now even after they are fully charged, the battery icon shows up on the camera as soon as you put the batteries in. You can take a small handful of pictures but that's about it.

  • good battery charger
This is a good little timed battery charger. It is timed to go off after 7 hours so you don't have to worry about leaving it on all day. It's multi-voltage so it's great for when you travel overseas. The only flaw I can find is that the plug itself could have been better designed, and with this being multi-voltage, it should have come with at least one different type of adaptor. So if you are overseas you will have to get an adaptor for it. Otherwise, it works great for what I need it for....more info
  • Excelent Product!!
nice charguer, good price, fast shipping, support AAA and AA. High Quality, i have it 72 hours charging docens of batterys....more info
  • Charger is fine, but the batteries are already kapoot!
The charger itself is just fine, but I gave my son and his wife this set for his Canon digital camera at Christmas 2006. The batteries are already kapoot and won't take a charge. It's only been 9 months. Not a very good track record. I have recharable batteries for my digital camera that have been going strong for more than three years now. They are a different brand that came with my Sony DSC73 camera. Go figure......more info
  • Excellent Charger
This is an excellent charger, the best part is, it supports both AA and AAA charging and has universal voltage....more info

  • Sony Power Charger with 4 Ni-MH AA Batteries
I purchased this to charge the batteries for my digital camera. The camera uses two batteries so I always have two fully charged spares.
The batteries stay charged through many flash photos, though I've never actually counted how many. They recharge overnight and the charger automatically shuts itself off. The product does what Sony says it will do.

  • Great set of Batteries
I have been using these batteries for some time now, they hold there charge longer then the set that came with my sony camera. I think this is well worth the price....more info
  • Don't waste your money
After a full charge, two of these batteries will only allow between 8 to 10 pictures to be taken before the charge runs out. Using all four fully charged batteries will allow you to take between 15 to 20 shots.

I've had to keep standard AA batteries on hand because these Sony Re-chargeable batteries completely lose their charge after just sitting in the charger overnight.

Two standard AA batteries will allow about 30 to 40 pictures before they go dead....more info
  • Works fine
This is not the fastest charger, but the price is good and it work on both 120V and 220V at a much better price than any other charger I found....more info
  • Works great
I bought this a year ago to save money on batteries. Still works great. I leave batteries to charge overnight and their good to go (I think it takes about 8 hours for a full charge)...more info
  • Power Charger
The power charger seems to work fine, but the batteries dont hold much of a charge. Definitely not what I was hoping for, hence why I give it 2 stars. At least the charger seems to work. ...more info
  • Works fine, but a solar powered charger would be better
The BCG-34HLD works fine, though the charger's 360mAH output rate means it'll take a about 6 hours to charge the 2100mAH batteries. I bought it because it had a decent amount of charge to it, and hey it's comparatively cheap, but now I wish I had bought one with a charger that would accept a 12V lighter connection so that I could hook it up to a 5V solar panel. At sundancesolar, they sell a kit with 2500mAH batteries and charger that has a lighter connection so you can use a solar panel. At a 800mAH rate, 2500mAH batteries will only take about 3 hours to recharge and you don't have to be plugged into the grid! I'll probably use these Sony batteries in a new solar charger.

A few things to be aware of with NiMH batteries:

*If NiMH batteries are repeatedly partially discharged and then recharged, it is necessary to do an occasional complete discharge followed by a complete recharge. However, more often overcharging is the cause of voltage depression, so for this charger, you must keep track of how many hours the batteries have been charging (5 hours, 50 minutes).

*NiMH batteries self discharge about 1-3% per day, so they should be charged when you'll be needing them. This makes them a bad choice for emergency equipment that is stored away for long periods. They should also not be used in equipment that continues to drain them after they've been discharged as this can render them unusable.

*Alkaline batteries start at 1.5 volts and gradually drop to less than 1.0 volts. NiMH batteries remain at a 1.2 volt average for about 80% of their discharge cycle.

The sony batteries retain power for a long time. I do not need to recharge frequently....more info
  • Power charger does not equal rapid charger
I just got this a few weeks ago to charge batteries for our digital camera. Haven't used it much yet but it looks like it works fine.

My only issue is that it takes 6-7 hours to charge the batteries. This isn't really a big deal for my home use but it might be for others. There are rapid chargers out there that charge the batteries in an hour or two.

Also this unit doesn't indicate if the battery is already charged. Its a pretty basic unit for a pretty basic price. Just fine for basic use!...more info

  • Nice Price but poor lasting batter y performance.
I bought this item for my digital camera. I was hoping to get away from conventional batteries. But these batteries only last a very short time without being recharged and even then do not last any time at all. I let them frain down all the way and let them recharge fully and still they do not last any length of time in a digital camera. They may last longer in any other thing that takes AA batteries but not as demanding as a camera with zoom and all. I haven't tried them on that. But I do not reccommend them for a digital camera with auto focus and zoom....more info
  • Good batteries, for about 2 years
I have had these for 2 years. i dont think anyone comes back to write a review for a purchase made after 2 years.

I have never had any problems with these batteries in the first 2 years. I have a canon 4MP camera with a 1GB card and i have run out of memory but never the charge on the batteries.

Now after 2 years of moderate use, the batteries wont charge. They might be losing charge after 2-3 days of charge if they lay around idle.

I have used other rechargeable and they are expected to last longer....more info
  • Charger ok, but not the battery
I bought this pack from another online store. After using more than 1 year, the battery power seems to be not as good as before. Getting a chance to use Energixer, I can tell there is a big difference from the 1st day of using both. Engergixer can stay longer. After half year used, and no sign of any degrade in power capacity. ...more info

  • Compact & Functional
For years I have had a battery charger that cost me about $40 with the batteries. It was big, bulky, took up tons of room in my suitcase, and I could't bring it anywhere. This one, not only hold a charge MUCH longer than the previous one I had, but can also be thrown in a small purse and brought with to any event. I love it and swear by it....more info
  • Sony Camera Battery Charger

  • Very good charger
Really very good. I use the batteries with my sony digital camera and I take about 300 photos before recharge again. It is highly recomended....more info
  • Pretty sweet batteries
I really like the power provided by these batteries. I use them for my Canon Powershot S2 IS that has pretty big lens and I guess must consume a lot of power for switching it on and off. However, with these batteries, I have been taking like 150 photos pretty easily (for each charge/discharge cycle).

    Really good investment!!!...more info
  • Sony Power Charger with 4 Ni-MH AA Batteries

  • perfect solution for the inexpensive Canon A520
This kit is exactly what I needed to keep my wife from throwing her camera in the junk drawer for good. The camera's flash would burn through the alkalines at a rediculous rate, and these Ni-MH power through hundreds of shots with ease. I'm really impressed - especially at the price....more info

  • Excellent
I am delighted to have purchased this item from Sony. It can also charge Ni-Mh batteries that exceed 2300 mAh and i have a Nikon Coolpix 7600 digital camera and I charged 2500 mAh rechargeable Energizer battery and it took 450 shots with flash and also had energy to film for some minutes before the batteries ran out. I also have other types of rechargeable batteries and all of them can be charged using this Sony charger. I was happy that I had to wait a long period to exhaust the batteries during my checking. The power cut facility is very handy. It automatically shuts off the indicator light when the batteries are fully charged. I recommend that this charger is more than useful for digital camera users. Go for it. This is very good. ...more info

  • Good but costly
It looses a star to the price in comparison with others. The overall product is good, works in any voltage and frequency which is good for people travelling to other countries.
Charging time is high which can be brought down considerably.
I have got two pieces of these and they are working very well. No heating problems and very convient to pack and store....more info

  • Great batteries
This was the best deal I found on rechargable NiHM batteries and that too these are made in Japan by Sony. It has a capacity of 2300mAh.

There is one problem with this. This charger does not automatically shut off when the batteries finish charging. So the first time I charged them, I kept waiting for the indicator to go off and I realized after 18 hrs that they are not going to go off.

So, though the batteries are good the charger is not. I would suggest people to go with another sony rechargable model that sells here for just a few dollars more....more info
  • Great Battery Life...Good Work Sony!
I use these batteries for my Wireless Desktop & for my MD Walkman. Takes a while for them to die which is very good. No one wants to constantly charge a rechargeable battery. LOL. Anyway, good life on these batteries.......more info
  • World Class Feature
Anything that eliminates an AC-DC adapter from my luggage gets my attention. This is a small unit that has 110-220 volts US plug built in. No wall wart to schlep. Hooray!

Update: 15-March-2005 Plastic lid broke off. Not a biggy but should have been sturdier. Still pleased with it's usefulness and travelability....more info
  • Timer Charger
This is a timed charger, but well matched to the supplied 2100mAh NiMH batteries. The manual recommends charging after a full discharge, so it may overcharge your partially depleted cell or an older cell with lower capacity. As long as you recharge a fully empty, ~2100mAh cell, it shall be fine.

The included cells, actually made by Sanyo-GE, are premium cells, and only surpassed by Sanyo's latest 2300mAh cells....more info

  • Seems Like Cool, But Shipping Delay is Dissappointing

  • The Best Investment for All Your Battery Needs
This set includes 4 AA cells Made in Japan for Sony by Sanyo, as well as a timed charger, NOT a smart charger as its similar looking Sony variants.

The Sony Power Charger can recharge 4 AAA or AA cells at a time. Unlike the Panasonic BQ-390 which I also used and reviewed, this Sony uses a timer to stop charging. The Panasonic BQ-390 has advanced circuitry inside to monitor charging through temperature, voltage drop, and the cell's internal resistance, so that you'll get more precise charging and less damage from overcharging of simpler chargers. Sony also offers a similarly advanced product, but this model is a cheaper timed model. It charges the 2100mAH cells for 8 hours straight, or 800 mAh AAA cells for 7 hours straight. If you charge a partially used cell, it will not detect when the cell reaches full charge, and might overcharge. It's best to charge a fully depleted cell with timed chargers....more info

  • I love these batteries.
I have had the same batteries in my digital camera for over a week now. I have taken about 70 pictures, played around with my new digital camera, transferred images to my PC and the batteries are still going. I went through two regular AA batteries in a few hours before I got this. I would highly recommend this product....more info
  • Great batteries & Charger
These 2100mah Sony AA batteries and charger are the best I own. I have many different brands, Energizer, Kodak, Panasonic etc. and probably a 1/2 dozen chargers.

As some may or may not know batteries that are "trickle or slow" charged will last a good bit longer. This charger takes about 6-7 hours before the full indicator light goes off. On quick charger 15-60 min ones they still fair well but of course not as nearly as long as slow charges.

If you have a digital camera and are using disposable batteries this is a necessary cost saving purchase. So often in Camera reviews people complain "It eats batteries" It is best to have 2 to 3 extra sets and a set runs down - who cares! Throw them in the charger and switch sets....more info

  • Charging time
I bought this without knowing what the charging time was. I took a risk since it was at an affordable price and found out to my dismay that the charging time is as follows:

    1-4 batteries:

    2100mAh Approx 7 hours
    1700mAh Approx 6 hours
    800mAh Approx 7 hours
    700mAh Approx 6 hours

I haven't used the product yet...I just got it today. I don't know. I might return it for the Kodak 1 hour charger one for the same price (18.99) but the deal is gone for this product, it's back to 19.99. Anyways...pretty fast shipping though =)...more info
