Product Description

Want to install a motion solar sensor floodlight without having to hire an electrician to wire it? Install this solar powered security light anywhere around your home without wiring hassles or expensive battery replacement! This maintenance-free security light uses solar energy to power the long lasting, bright, energy-efficient halogen bulb, so you won't be left in the dark. Install one near each of your entryways and you can be sure that your family can enter and exit your home safely, even when there's a power outage. Don't worry about cloudy skies, because the light works for approximately 2 weeks without ANY sunlight (at an average of eight 30-second light intervals each night)! A built-in motion and heat sensor turns the light on for people, but not for swaying tree branches. You can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor to pick up a full 90 horizontally, at a distance of up to 30 feet. Set the darkness level to keep the light from coming on too early in the evening or too late at night. Choose either a 30- or 60-second duration for the light to remain on after the last motion detected. A 14-foot cable between the solar panel and the light lets you place the security light where you need it, while allowing the solar panel to be installed facing the sun (south for homes in the Northern Hemisphere). Multi-lingual instructions included.

Features:
  • Put a bright (over 800 lumen) halogen security light wherever you need one -- without worrying about wiring.
  • The patented infrared motion detector detects activity up to 75 feet away.
  • When activated, it throws a flood of light and can sound an optional siren.
  • The large solar panel charges the built-in rechargeable battery during the day which powers the light up to 60 times at night.
  • Also includes a 30-ft cable for charging directly from a house AC outlet, if needed.
Customer Reviews:
  • Solar Mate Centurion is hit and miss
I bought 3 of these units. The motion detection sensor is not very effective and I would classify this unit as a utility light and certainly not a security light. Of the three I bought, 1 failed within one month....more info
  • Product is not waterproof & Solar Masters does not care
I bought two of these outdoor lights, took them by plane to my place in Chile, and put them outdoors to charge for three days before testing, as per the directions. One of them was fried before I started to use it and the other stays on constantly unless you manually turn it off due to water entering the electronics. I called the manufacturer and told them what had happened, even offering to pay for new sealed electronics units, since the light and battery and sensor portions were still fine. They refused to help me, saying that the parts were made in Malaysia and they couldn't get just the electronics module and that my warranty was expired. So, I am out $200 plus shipping charges to Chile, and now I need to buy and install another product. Everyone should know not to buy Solar Masters' products....more info
  • how long will it work?
The product worked somewhat as advertised at first but work rarely now. I charged the light as intructed and mounted. I had problems with the testing but it seemed to work so I left it now I don't think I can do anything except trash it. The warranty is 30 days from the manufacturer. I'm waiting to hear from them but don't expect much... I would not buy this. I also agree the light is pretty dim, but if in a dark secluded area it would be OK, only if it worked........more info
  • LIGHT! I DONT THINK SO
THIS LIGHT DOES NOT GIVE OFF ENOUGH LITE TO WALK WITH, A FLASHLIGHT IS BETTER. SO POOR THAT I HAVE NOT EVEN HUNG THEM UP. CHARGED AS DESCRIBED AND TRIED TO USE THEM AT NIGHT TO SEE, JUST NOT ENOUGH LIGHT FOR THE COST. I WOULD NOT REORDER THESE IF I HAD IT TO DO OVER AGAIN. DID NOT TRY TO RETURN AS I FIGURED IT WOULD BE MORE OF A HASSLE THAN THEY WERE WORTH NOR WOULD THE SELLER BE RECEPTIVE I AM SURE. BUT THEY ARRIVED ON TIME AS INDICATED. ...more info
  • Decent unit if you set it up correctly.
Works well. Have reasonable expectations -- it uses a 15 watt bulb so don't expect it anywhere near the power of an electric outlet powered light. It works well enough for small areas, however, which is all i needed it for. Motion sensor is nicely adjustable such that I could get it to exclude the dozens of numerous wandering cat's from triggering it. The only downside is the solar panel doesn't have a external frame included to mount on, which was a bummer since I mounted the light under a ceiling recess where minimal sunlight would reach, meaning I needed to separate the solar panel. However, my detached garage roof is flat, so I needed to custom build a mounting frame so the panel could be mounted at an angle to the south (most optimal position for a panel) to get maximum sunlight capture and prevent issues of trapped water sitting on the panel after a rainfall.

Edit: After 6 months, the unit is working flawlessly. I've never experienced any problem with the motion sensor failing or a lack of available power. It simply just works in the background without me ever thinking of it. Great unit.

  • Not Worth the Money
I bought two of these lights. Charged them as instructed. Easy to install. After two days one unit was completely dead. I tried charging it again. It held the charge for about 1 day and then it was dead again. Contacted the company's customer service and had to buy a new battery. It still wouldn't hold a charge. Threw it in the trash. Horrible product and would not recommend. The second unit still works, but just barely and it buzzes real loud. Buy the Zenith solar unit instead!...more info
  • Nice try but needs to sense motion all the time!
We bought this as a simple solution to provide lighting in an trash can area around our home so we weren't too concerned about its appearance. Thinking that solar might be a good idea, we thought it was worth a go. The item is pretty easy to install. You basically charge the battery overnight and then go about finding a place to screw it into the wall. It worked fine for about a week or so and then nothing. We recharged the battery out of concern that perhaps there was not enough sunlight and tested the light successfully but when it comes time to detecting motion, the thing is blind as a bat now. Not worth the money, in my opinion....more info
