Product Description

The Lorex SG7120 Accessory B/W Dome Camera for Observation Systems is economical, reliable and designed for use with any Lorex, Sylvania and Home Sentinel observation system. Constructed of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic, the dome housing is extremely durable, while the smoke-colored acrylic dome lens not only discourages tampering, but shields the camera's direction from the view of any observers. This camera provides a high-quality image with good light sensitivity, and allows for manual pan/tilt movement so you can achieve an optimum viewing angle. Easy to install, the Lorex SG7120 is designed for primarily indoor use and includes a built-in mike allowing for one-way listen-in audio, making this camera well suited to discreet surveillance in your home or business.

This accessory dome camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, with 510-by-492 effective picture elements. Built with a 3.6-millimeter fixed lens, the SG7120 has a high resolution of 380 horizontal TVL (TV lines). This unit also has a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of more than 46 dB, and can receive a picture down to a minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux. The unit features an automatic electronic shutter with an exposure time ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second, as well as a 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt range, so you can monitor any area in a room. The SG7120 runs on power supplied via the monitor cable (included), and can operate in temperatures from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius.

Technical Features:

  • Sensitivity: down to 0.5 Lux
  • Lens type: 3.6 mm fixed
  • Resolution: 510 by 492 effective pixels and 380 TVL
  • Operating temperature: -10 to 50 degrees Celsius
  • Dimensions: 12.5 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm in depth
The Lorex SG7120 accessory camera is a great way to expand your Lorex observation system's coverage area. Quick and easy to install with a standard six-pin DIN connector, this Lorex camera comes completely assembled and ready to use with a 65-foot cable that lets you install it almost anywhere. Users should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

About Dome Cameras
A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often designed to be tamper resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas.
