Product Description

The CyberPower Systems CP900AVR UPS offers advanced power protection in a sleek and rugged tower. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) ensures that all your electronics are receiving clean and stable AC power. Designed for mid-level to upper-level computer systems, the CP900AVR guards against surges/spikes, and also offers battery backup in the event of brownouts or total power loss. If your PC is unattended, PowerPanel PE Power Management software will automatically save and close open files and also shutdown the computer system in an intelligent and orderly manner. The CP900AVR also has full dataline protection: RJ11/RJ45 (phone, fax, Ethernet, network, DSL) and RG-6 coax (DSS, cable modem, satellite, cable TV). The convenient tower designs allows for placement on the floor, inside a workstation cabinet, or directly on the desktop. "Surge-Only" outlets are perfect for the addition of peripherals such as monitors, printers, scanners, iPods, or CD/DVD players.

  • OK So Far
The unit works as expected - this is my third unit from CyberPower (after I swore off APC after one of their units screwed up the BIOS on an old computer). It's good that these CP units have a 3-year warranty, because the batteries fail at about 2 years/10 months - happend with both previous units.

The AVR seems to work fine, which was a primary feature needed - at times the mains voltage drops to 88 volts.

The bad point about this new unit is the new "PowerPanel Personal Edition software." The previous version was much better and more flexible. If you should be upgrading the unit, don't upgrade the software unless you have to. Tried to downgrade to the old PowerPanel, and it does not work, so I am stuck.

Make a note to test your unit at about 2 years/9 months, so you can catch the battery before the warranty expires. (And with the new software, you have to unplug it to test; with the old software you could configure a test for 10 or 15 minutes, the new software only does a 10-second test.)...more info
  • Good Value for the price
Works ok. In order to use the product w/ Windows Power Mgmt, must get the serial port cable, special order. My config uses 220-240 watts which the s/w reports means 14 minutes of runtime on batteries. ...more info
  • okay so far, but
Well, the light comes on and the computer runs, but the software is buggy. I've reinstalled the monitoring software several times but the 'Help' button remains a broken link which doesn't so much as twitch, and the program often shuts itself down without notice. I'll finish a movie or task and - voila - no power center in the taskbar or in the task manager processes. So who knows if it's doing anything at all, or if it's simply a very very bulky extension cord?...more info
  • 900VA/560W USwith Avr saves the day
After tree fell across power line to house and pulled neutral wire from meter base causing 240 volts across house wiring the UPS was smoking but it saved all items (home theater)that was plugged to it. This was adding an unusual burden to the unit but it performed flawlessly. So this unit is a replacement for the one that bit the dust! ...more info
