Customer Reviews:
  • Excellent UPS for average to gadget user.
Bought two of these UPS from Best Buy 2 years ago for pretty cheap. We have been living in an area that likes to see electrical flickers and outages. Since I run my own photo/video and other media company from home, I was concerned of losing data from power outages.

Ever since we've had these UPS, we've never had to concern ourselves with when and if the power flickers or goes out again. The device keeps everything regulated perfectly.

Even at peak usage (1 x 250gb external HD, 1 x 1TB external HD, 1 x Dell XPS computer, 21" wide screen monitor) the backup gives me about 8 minutes of time before it runs out of juice. I have it set to automatically shutdown my pc when 5 minutes of battery time is remaining so that if i'm not there, it'll handle the outage as intended.

You definately know when you're running off of the battery backup as it beeps every 5 seconds or so and you can hear it's internal fans running. But when not running on battery backup, you never know it's there.

Excellent back up that provides enough battery for someone with multiple periphials connected and makes working through uncertain power flickers go on without a hitch....more info
  • Does not run off a modified sine wave inverter
The only reason I got this was to run my computer off a battery being charged by a solar panel. I didn't know they don't run off of inverters that use a modified sine wave. Well with that idea in the crapper I'm currently using it to power my PC. I don't get a lot of power outages so I don't know exactly when I'm going to use it, but i guess its always good to be prepared!...more info

  • Woks Great on Core 2 Duo Machine!
This UPS works great! it runs my computer with Intels 6700 Core 2 Duo , 2 GB ram, 2 HDD's, Ati x800xt Graphics, Audigy sound, 600 watt PSU, Plus (2) Dell 20" LCD's for about 20 minutes when the power goes out.

We have an old house with old wiring, so we get a lot of power outages here. The last power outage fried my power supply in my computer, so I decided it was time to get a UPS. This one works way better than expected! The battery last for about 20 minutes with my system, which is way more than enough time to shut everything down safely. The control panel is excellent, and you can set it to automatically enter hibernate mode or shut down the computer after so many minutes of using the battery, which is great for when you have a power outage and you're away from home! I HIGHLY recommend this product!...more info
  • THE BOM OF UPS' ( FOR THIS PRICE CLASS ) !!!!!!!
THIS REVIEW IS PRETTY LATE. I WANTED TO GIVE IT SEVERAL MONTH'S OF EVALUATION BEFORE I POSTED A REVIEW. I LIVE IN A VERY FRAGILE ELECTRICAL ZONE. THE UTILITY COMPANY HAS LET THE HARDWARE INFRASTRUCTURE GO TO POT OVER THE PAST 20+ YEAR'S! WITH NO EXAGERATION,.....IVE LOST POWER ON 13 OCCATION'S DURING 2006. THESE 13 WERE FOR NO LESS THAN 30 MIN'S, AND SEVERAL WERE IN THE HOUR'S RANGE. I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWNHOUSE COMPLEX AND IM A 2-WAY RADIO ENTHUSIAST, PLUS I ALWAY'S HAVE SOME SORT OF POLICE SCANNER RADIO RUNNING TO KEEP MY WIFE AND I APRISED OF OUR LOCAL HAPPENING'S. WHENEVER AN OUTAGE IS WEATHER OR MASSIVE IN NATURE, I ALSO HAVE A 10" LCD / DVD TV PLAYER, AND WITH ALL THE MENTIONED ITEM'S HOOKED UP TO THE CYBERPOWER 1200 IVE HAD JUST CRAZY INSANE RUNTIME'S !!! USED CONSERVATIVELY, THIS LITTLE GEM WILL PROVIDE HOUR'S OF ELECTRICITY. IT'S BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED, AND WITH IT'S BRIGHT BLUE DISPLAY, EVERY REALAVANT PIECE OF ELECTRICAL INFO IS AT YOUR FINGERTIP'S. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THE CYBERPOWER 1200, I HAVE SEVERAL UPS SYSTEM'S IN OUR HOME FOR VARIOUS APPLICATION'S AND I RATE THIS UNIT THE BEST I OWN, WITH A BELKIN UNIT 2ND. IN CLOSING, I WANTED TO ADD THAT THIS UNIT ALSO HAS VOLTAGE REGULATION, WHICH WILL MAINTAIN THE AC VOLTAGE AT OR AROUND 118-120 VOLT'S EVEN IN BROWNOUT OR HIGH SPIKE SCENARIOS. I WISH EVERYONE READING ANY OF MY REVIEW'S THE BEST OF HEALTH TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, AS WELL AS GOOD SPIRIT'S. RESPECTFULLY, FRANK....more info
  • Reliable?
Purchased one unit for desktop computer, and it has been fine for 10 months. Purchased another for a network server, and plugged a laser printer into one of the battery back-up sockets. Red lights flashed each time the laser printer was used (for about 1 week). Reconnected to surge only outlet as recommended by Cyber staff. Battery backup functions failed about 2 months later. Brand new replacement failed (battery backup sockets only) 1 month later with no laser ever attached (server, 17" monitor, and electric typewriter only). Cyber repaired the second unit under warrenty but sent me back a refurbished 800AVR. After notifying company, they are sending a brand new 1200 AVR unit with apologies. ...more info
