Bowflex Series 7 treadmill, user's manual, warranty information
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.
From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.
While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

- Great equipment
Consumer Reports says this is one of the best, and I believe it. It seems very sturdy. It ships in a great big box (it weighs A TON) and requires assembly. It didn't take long to assemble using a philips head screwdriver. My wife and I have been using it for over a year now and have had zero problems with it; at this rate, it should last a lifetime....more info
- Poor service Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill
I purchased the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill 11/06 and it was great. However, in Mar. 2007 the rear roller became noisy. I contacted the company and they immediately shipped a "front" roller by mistake. The technician could not find anything wrong so he did nothing.
The rear roller noise became extremely loud and we've contacted the company. They initially said they would ship a rear roller but now they cannot give any date at all.
We're not pleased with the service. We need the treadmill for walking. My husband Jim had a stroke 2 years ago and he was walking 4 miles per day outside then on the treadmill but he cannot use it now....more info
- Steady Machine
We bought this machine for use in our home in May 2007. So far we have not had any problems with the machine at all. Neither one of us are avid runners so I can't rate the product on that aspect, but I use it 5 times a week 1 hour a night, and so far we have not had any problems. I like that when you unfold the running deck it slowly lowers and does not just release. The only complaint that I can really find is that without a mat, the treadmill left a fine dusting of black powder on my carpet. Like others have commented the machine is not light weight and heavy to move (the wheels do help though), so make of that what you will. Overall I would rate this treadmill right on the money, just make sure to have a mat underneath it. And as for all of the complaints about not receiving front door service, not only did the delivery men bring it to my front door, they also put the treadmill in the room for me! ...more info
- Stopped working just after warranty expired
I bought this treadmill just over 2 years ago. Due to a back injury, it has had very limited use. Maybe, 30 sessions. I started using it again last week and after one session the unit stopped working and gave an error code that indicated something with a speed sensor. After searching on the internet it became apparant that this is a known issue. I called customer service who had me run a few tests and it looks like the mother board failed. The electronics are only covered for 1 year. The motherboard is $227 + tax and shipping. The customer service rep suggested that I first try to replace the speed sensor for a cost of $11 and if that doesnt work I will need to replace the mother board. The replaced motherboard will have a warranty of 30 days.
Needless to say, I am pretty disgusted with something that fails after only 30 or so uses. I paid $1500 for this 2 years ago and now will be investing another $250. I can't recommend this unit.
My advice is to try an find one that doesnt rely on some cheap mother board made in China....more info

Rocky wish he had this tread mill!
Maybe he could have worked out some of that bad acting out of his system.
Library quiet, smooth as a bambina's thigh.

- Broken after one hour of use
The product was shipped to us 9 days after ordering. The machine worked for 30 minutes and then the buttons stopped working - pushing the power button turns the fan on, etc. I called Nautilus's repair service line (Nautilus is the parent company) for parts, and it took about 30 min before a human picked up. They shipped us the wrong part so we had to call again. What frustrates me is that calling their sales department gets right through - it is only the customer service line that incurs the extra long wait. The 2nd time we called, the lady that picked up suggest that we should direct the complaint to Amazon since it was Amazon who shipped us the defective product - this suggestion I find rather absurd because Nautilus manufactured the defective product in the first place! Anyway, we were able to get the product fixed in the end and it is working fine now. In reading the reviews of this product, it seems like a few people did get a lemon, but other than that the product works well.

*** CAUTION ***
***DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM FROM THE TREADMILL SUPERSTORE / [...] or from MERCANTILA INC.***
I made the unfortunate error and it was a terrible experience. Thankfully my credit card amount was refunded.
***BUY IT FROM AMAZON***
I got tired of waiting around at LA Fitness for an available treadmill to use and I decided to purchase one. This was an excellent purchase a buddy already owned one and reported no issues at all.
The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill is worth every penny!

- Would not buy another Bowflex series 7 again!
I purchased this Bowflex Series 7 treadmill based on reviews in a consumer magazine. This treadmill worked fine for just under 2 years (although it developed some deck noise). Then it suffered a catastrophic break down (electrical and/or mechanical problems). Nautilus reps (the owners of Bowflex) sent repair guys to my house multiple times. The repair guys never got it running properly. After 6-8 months of hassle, I called 2 other independent repair companies, and they said it would be too expensive and difficult to fix (even Sears will not repair Bowflex treadmills). I am completely frustrated with the slow repair process, short warranty, and poor quality of this treadmill. I decided to buy a different treadmill at a similar price (a Sole F80, which I have also wrote a review of). I do not believe this product holds up well over time and, unfortunately, the warrantly only covers labor for 1 year! I would not buy another Bowflex treadmill again.
- Nice Buy!
Upon looking around the Bowflex seemed to be the best overall rated for home use. I was little skeptical on spending $1200 for a treadmill. However, I didn't want to waste money on an inferior one either.
The machine came in about three days. It was heavy for sure and you Will need help getting this thing in your home. As previous post have mentioned, decide what room you will have the Bowflex in. Once it is assembled, you will not be able to move through standard 32" doorways. Even unassembled you will have to turn the machine on its side to move as I experienced.
It took about 45 minutes to assemble from start to turning on and test running. There are just a few parts to assemble. The bulk is pre-assembled , so don't let assemble required scare you off.
On mine, some screws mention in the instructions and what came didn't jive; however, it was no biggie.
The treadmill itself is definitely of high quality. I would rate it just below gym quality, but gym quality would cost you 3K. Gym quality has to be able to be pounded on for 8-10 hours at a time. For home use, I think this one will last a good long while.
I'm 220 lbs and this thing held up wonderfully. Not just in walking, but running at an 8 minute mile clip. The fan doesn't do much for you walking, but when you start ramping up and breaking a sweat, the light breeze does help.
I won't give this a 5 only due to the price. I would like to see the price at about $975. However, I didn't see one for less than the Bowflex that I felt comfortable would hold up and last like I think the Bowflex will.

- Solid & sturdy treadmill - Fast delivery thru ABF - Awesome workout...
Our Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill was ordered and delivered in 5 days.
Assembled - up and running within 45 minutes due to the super organized packaging and instructions.
Enjoyed our first workout on it, belt and bed were sturdy and absorbed our consistant and strenuous foot pounding without pain in our joints.
Easy and quiet operation, the manual operation of the speed and incline is so easy.
Heartrate monitor works fabulous and is a very effective workout tool.
We researched this purchase and could not be more pleased with the overall quality of this treadmill.
Order it, I am 5'7" and my husband is 6'and the fan is aimed perfectly and works nice, if you workout hard and really sweat though you'll need a floor fan of course to get more of the air moving around your whole body.
Runners high here we come!!!!!:)
- Best home treadmill I've used
We decided to add another treadmill to our home gym since those get used more than the other pieces of exercise equipment. That was two of us can exercise at the same time.
Our older treadmill cost about two-thirds as much as this one, and having used a good quality treadmill I knew that going down in quality was not an option for us. For the price, features, and reviews, this one seemed to be the best one for us.
It set up easily and the instructions were clear. The treadmill runs quietly and is very solidly built. It withstands jogging without shaking and the fan comes in very useful for keeping us cool while working out.
The preprogrammed workouts are nice so I don't have to think about speed, incline, and distance.
I recommend this treadmill if you are serious about working out and don't want to be disappointed with your workout equipment. ...more info
- bowflex series 7
Ok, first of all this is heavy. You better make sure where you want it because once you put it together you are not going to want to move it to some other room. The bolts in mine did not match up with the manual, that seems to be common, so dont worry about having enough. Just make sure you use the black bolts to attach the console to the upright struts. Dont tighten the bolts until the manaul tells you to do so. It took me about 1 hour to put it together, some of that was a stubborn bolt hole.
You must calibrate the unit before you use it!. This procedure is sort of buried in the middle of the users manual. I am impressed with how quiet and solid the unit appears to be. My wife and I are both starting to use it and our friends have been impressed with the quality of the series 7. The fan is a joke as others have stated, but I dont regard it as necessary anyway. We purchased this primarily due to other good reviews and so far we are very pleased.
- Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill
I selected this treadmill for my wife based on a favorable review in Consumer Reports. I don't know if this treadmill would be suitable for an avid runner, but it is quite sturdy and my wife loves it for walking. The assembly was fairly easy, but one operation does require two people. The only tools required are the hex wrenches supplied with the unit. It worked perfectly "right out of the box" once I realized that the safety disk must be in place or the treadmill will not function. The unit is very heavy and the shipping container is quite large so I was very glad that the truck driver helped me get it into the house. The product was shipped almost too fast -- I made an electronic transfer from from a money market account to my bank prior to ordering, but the treadmill was shipped and our account charged so quickly I was afraid of an overdraft. That worked out OK though
I would recommend this unit to anyone....more info
I weigh 180 pounds and I've run on this thing almost every single day for the last 14 months.

- A Quality Product
The Bowflex 7 Series treadmill is an excellent product. It is well constructed and offers many exercise programs and options. The only problem that I have experienced with the treadmill was the fan that blows air on the user while exercising was damaged in shipment and does not work. The warranty should cover the repair. I am very well pleased with the Bowflex 7 and would recommend it to anyone desiring a high quality treadmill....more info

- A GREAT TREADMILL
Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill
A really great treadmill, extremely well-engineered and built. Has all of the features one would ever need, including a variety of programs built in. I was considering a less-expensive model, but am glad I chose this one for the extra money, as it will provide a lifetime of use. Only minor problem is its weight (absolutely necessary to provide great stability) of almost 300 pounds. While it does have portability, it takes some strength to move it. One hint-have a muscular friend available when it is delivered....more info
- Absolutely love it!!
I have tried many treadmills in my life and by far this is the best so far!
It has the feel of a professional one just like the ones you'd expect to find at big house gyms.
I'm a bigger guy (6 foot 5 inches) and I feel very comfortable running, walking, or just jogging on this machine.
It is a very heavy machine, so as recommended by a lot of people, you need at least two to three people to help move it. Put it together where you decide to keep it for a long time! Unless you are just moving it around the room it does have wheels which help ease the process some.
Overall, I am loving my Bowflex Treadmill and would highly recommended it!!

My treadmill has been collecting dust since Oct. 2008. It worked fine when it worked. It's been 6 months since it has stopped working (two months after the warranty ran out)and after replacing all of the electronics in the lower unit it is still not working. I am 6'2", 230 lbs. This machine holds up to the pounding of jogging on it and is long enough for my stride while running. Easy to put together. The one touch speed control is not true. My husband and I are very happy with our recent purchase of this treadmill. It is fairly quiet, easy to use, and has a long enough belt that you can walk or run without worry. - Good product, poor delivery service
The treadmill is working and both my wife and I enjoy using it. It was delivered in a timely manner but the delivery folks simply left it out in the deck porch with the box all torn up from transport. There are a couple of small chipped plastic at the bottom of the treadmill that may not be there if the handling was better!
This treadmill is a huge piece of exercise equipment and quite heavy but my wife and I we're able to take it inside and down to the basement slowly and very carefully. Assembly is simple enough and took me about 45 min. to put the whole thing together. Fit and finish of plastic components can be improved. So far no problem with the machine as far as function.
The price is right for this treadmill and is a good value, but for any potential buyer, beware of the delivery people....more info
- Bowflex Series 7 service delivery (or lack thereof)
I like the treadmill but it is not as user friendly as implied in some of the reviews. To make any change you have to get out of the program and restart. It is also hard to read the settings scrolling across the front. It can freeze if you try changing speeds or heights too quickly.
However, the most disappointing element of buying the treadmill was the delivery. Nowhere did it say that it was "curb side delivery". And this is exactly what the shipper meant. I had to find someone to get it from the curb to my town house and to bring it up the stairs to my house. By the time I paid for the extra service I could have gone with a treadmill in a store and had it delivered and assembled for me. Lesson learned... beware of what you order when the equipment is heavy or large or not shipped directly from Amazon. Amazon also needs to update its shipping site to clarify different delivery options (if any are available). When I contacted Amazon I received the following answer: "The shipper will bring the package to your address, and take it off the truck, but it will be your responsibility to bring the item inside." I was told if I cancelled the order at that point I would have to pay a shipping and restocking fee. ...more info
- Don't Buy this treadmill
I replaced my old treadmill with the series 7, what a mistake. The customer service is non-responsive to your needs. The machine is in my den collecting dust and I am now using my old treadmill. - Outstanding Value
The Bowflex 7 Series treadmill has been an outstanding product and I've been very plesantly surprised with the craftmanship. I thoroughly reviewed the fold-up treadmill market before making this purchase, and I'm convinced we selected one of the best machines we reviewed and absolutely the best value. It's rated best fold-up by Consumer Reports (Feb. '07) and we have almost nothing but positive comments about it after using it nearly twice a day, between my wife and I, since we've purchased it. At this price point, its definitely the most stable and well manufactured treadmill we tested.
Amazon was more than $300 cheaper than our local retailer, where we tested the treadmill, and than Bowflex themselves. And with free shipping, we couldn't pass that up. It arrived on a pallet in a truck in great condition. However, I will warn you, and this is probably the case with any treadmill, but the base is extremely heavy and awkward, almost requiring three people to move, though we managed with two. (I recently moved and this was by far the toughest and most straining item to move in our house.)...more info

- Please so far (Day1)
Ease of ordering product:
Was able to easily order this item through Amazon. Selected free shipping method.
Delivery of product:
Product arrived 8 days later and was shipping using ABF.
Condition of product when it arrived:
Box was slightly damaged, but was in good shaped. Box is 45x48x24 and weighs about 250 lbs. I am almost the same size as the box and needed help getting it in my door. (instructed carrier to leave on door.)
Condition of product in box:
Well packaged and there was no damage.
Ease of assembly:
Need small cordless screwdriver and a little help installing the console. Other than correct tools and help with the console, its in good shape and went together easily. I took my time and it was assembled in approx. 1.5 hours.
Haven't used it yet, but I am please with my purchase so far. Seems like a very well made and technically up to date piece of equipment.
30 day update will be posted in mid October with more information.

I bought this treadmill after months of reading reviews after reviews after reviews. I did my research! I am NOT dissappointed! I put this together (by myself), after my husband helped me move it into my workout room. It only took me an hour, the directions were VERY easy to follow, all tools provided. You do need to make sure to calibrate it though. I had read a review that told me to make sure to do that step - or else I might have not realized that you had to do that step. After the quick 1-2 min calibration step I was up and running. No problems yet. I love this treadmill. I will update the review in a few months and let you all know if anything changes....more info
- Worth the money
After exhaustive research, I decided to purchase this model and I'm glad I did. Like the previous posters, I agree that this model is solidly built. I don't necessarily agree that the display is confusing because after reading the manual, I understand all of the LED displays and workout functions. As to the shipping (Eagle), the item arrived on the date Amazon said it would. However, the shipping company originally called on the day it was to be delivered, and left a message that the confirmed delivery date was two days later. My wife took off work to receive it on the appointed original date, and she called Eagle several times to confirm that the delivery would occur that day. With the help of my wife, they delivered the treadmill that day (the original predicted date of shipment) to the spot where it belonged (inside the house). The treadmill is HEAVY but rightfully so. It is also very quiet! I would recommend this to treadmill to beginners or advanced workout exercisers. One small complaint about the assembly directions is that the part numbers for the screws did not match the direction part numbers. But after some thinking and practical know how, the screws delivered did fit. It seems that Bowflex sends one kit out to match all the different models they sell and that may the reason for the discrepency. But that is one small complaint compared to the overall quality. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble. You won't be disappointed!...more info
- Overall Great Treadmill for the Money
I received this product in a little over a week from ordering. It arrived in perfect condition. Due to the heavy weight of the treadmill we had a little difficulty getting it into our basement. The assembly took about an hour to complete and once the calibration was complete it was ready to go. The only things I see that aren't as good as it could be are the fan power and the message display it scrolls at 2 letters at a time. Other than that we are really enjoying the treadmill....more info
- First Impressions: Solid, But Not Perfect...
My Bowflex was delivered today. I'd just like to make some observations on what I've seen so far:
-First off, the box for this thing is huge! The delivery guy was surly about having the wrong side facing the back of his truck (I had to help him rotate it), but overall he did a good job lugging the thing up the driveway. It's very heavy, but I'm one guy (5'8'') and I was able to take all the packing apart and set the treadmill up in my garage without much trouble. Fitting it through a door threshold would be a pain (you'd have to do it while it was still disassembled), but sliding things across a concrete garage floor wasn't too much work for me (about 2 hours total setup.
-The assembly instructions are a bit unclear with things. One of the steps said to use the included "Philips head screws," but you're really supposed to use the silver hex bolts. This happened twice in the booklet, and I was left with 4 extra bolts when I was done. Nothing is hard to figure out, but it's still annoying when you're searching for the wrong parts (some of the bolts are black, why not point that out during the actual steps?). Also, early on you're supposed to push some cables through a side rail, which is a pain - have a pair of needle-nose pliars handy, and be sure to use the black twist-ties to secure them on either end.
-For the most part, things fit well (one bolt on the center bar is wedged between the bar hole and the hole on the side rail), though the instructions could have been more clear on a few steps. For instance, the prongs on the center console have to wrap around the tops of those round protrusions on the tops of the side rails (followed by shifting them down a bit to align the holes for the bolts), but the illustration didn't say anything about how it's supposed to fit on the rails.
-Concerning the treadmill overall, there are some annoyances:
---The fan is really weak, and looks like the same cheap kind of fan I put in my computer a while back. Same (visible) power cables, etc. If you're just walking, you can feel a bit of the breeze, but while running I never feel anything, even on the highest setting.
---I'm not sure what height of person the treadmill was designed for. I have trouble reading the top part of the lowest display (there's a "track" that wraps around it) so I have to back up a bit, but then I can't reach the center bar (where the heart monitors are built in, unless you use the chest monitor that's included - and they don't tell you how to sync THAT up to the Bowflex, though it might be automatic...it's made by another company).
---I wish the buttons were actual click buttons rather than the kind covered with that plastic stuff, as sometimes it's difficult to know whether you're pressing them hard enough.
---Only the three stat screens light up. The buttons do not, so you pretty much have to work out with an external light on.
---There's no "cancel" button. When you end a workout, you have to press the power button off and on again to start a new workout.
---There are a few good workout programs, but I can't find one for "track" running. You know, walking the curves and jogging the straightaways...you can speed up and slow down manually though.
---I usually like the stats screen to be set to show miles elapsed and time elapsed/remaining. For some reason, it keeps randomly switching to the pulse rate display, UNLESS you're wearing the heart monitor strap or holding on to the bar. I've gotten into the habit of wearing the strap (which, btw, has to wrap around your skin, not just over a shirt), but it's annoying to have to tap the screen every few minutes just to get to the info you want if you're not wearing it.
---The stats screen only shows 2-3 pieces of info at a time. You can show one or cycle them, but I think it would have been nice to have a bigger screen with all the info at once.
----The displays are a little...freaky. Overall, the console kinda looks like a face, with circular "eyes" and a "mouth" for the stats. I know it's a childish observation, but it still bothers me that they couldn't just have one giant screen with more info displayed all at once. They could have put another screen in place of the fan too.
---Also, the console piece is the main "visual" part of the treadmill, and looks a bit cheap. It's hard plastic, but metal would have looked much better. Same goes for the parts that hide the tops of the rails.
-The operation manual says to lubricate the belt every few months (the package with the bolts and stuff also has a small bottle of silicone), but it doesn't tell you how or where to apply the silicone. I guess it goes on the underside of the rolling mat, but how do you coat the whole thing with a tube?
-Finally, there's a picture shown several times in the manuals of a model happily rolling the unit along. She's admittedly nice to look at, but it's just not plausible for someone her size to be able to tilt this monstrosity over and push it the way she's showing. I can barely get the bloody thing to tilt at all, and it's just too heavy to roll around on a regular basis. At around 33 inches wide, it won't fit through any of our doors, at least without taking it all apart again!
I know I've been nitpicking a lot, but as long as it lasts for a few years, I'll be happy I bought this machine. Whatever faults it has, the thing is sturdy and has a great motor. It's smooth enough to handle walking, and powerful enough when I run on it....more info
- Consumer Reports was wrong!!!!
I purchased the Bowflex Series 7 treadmill from Amazon.com on Nov. 20th. On Nov. 26th, it arrived and the second rate carrier didn't even have a dolly to unload the 300 pound treadmill! After installing it, I programmed it for a test run, but after 10-15 seconds it shut off showing an LS error message. Of course the manual and the corporate website had no information explaining error codes, so I emailed customer service since they didn't provide service on weekends. After almost three days w/o a response, I called a customer service agent who ran some diagnostic tests with me, and he said that the speed sensor was probably damaged in transit. He told me to send proof of purchase via email to a designated email address, then my part would be sent to me. After a week went by with no replacement sensor, I emailed back, and he claimed that they hadn't received my proof of purchase. As it turns out, he gave me the wrong email address to send the information to! So as you might expect, this sent me over the edge!! This company and its customer service is INEPT!!! Do not purchase anything from them! It's December 10th, and I still cannot use the treadmill I purchased for 1400 dollars on November 20th!!! To top it off, when the part arrives, I have to fix it myself!! This company is terrible and customers are not in their best interest! Consumer Reports dropped the ball on this one!! Please don't make the same mistake I have made. Buy a NordicTrack at Sears and let them set it up!!...more info
- Treadmill deck is a great value, console is a bit weak
Background: Mid 30s, male, 150lbs. I've been running for about a year (~ 1400 miles in 2007) with roughly half my time outside and half on gym or hotel treadmills. My wife and I were looking at a few different treadmills and liked the main stats of the Bowflex series 7: strong engine, good tread area (20x60), heavy frame, fast enough. For just under $1400 and with no tax or shipping charges, buying it through Amazon seemed like a good move.
I ordered the treadmill late Friday night and received a call on Monday by ABF (the freight delivery company) asking if I would be home on Tuesday for the treadmill to be dropped off. They gave me a 2 hour window of 11am -> 1pm to expect the delivery. Knowing it was a very heavy unit (300 lbs), I asked a friend if he could come over and help me move it in the house and assemble it.
ABF arrived a few minutes before 11:00am the next day. I was a bit surprised that there was a single guy in the ABF truck. I helped him move the unit on a dolly to the porch, and then we waited a few minutes for my friend and his teenage son to show up. With 4 of us, it wasn't hard to move the BIG box into the house, but it would have been pretty tough with just two people. Make sure you have a friend or two with some muscles to help.
We unpacked the unit and read through the instructions. In general, the instructions were very clear and the screw and components were well labeled. There was one small difference between the instructions and the names printed on the blister packs of screws, but it was pretty easy to figure out. Another thing that puzzled us for a minute was that the assembly guide indicated a philips head screwdriver was included. The 'philips head screwdriver' was actually one of the ends of an allen wrench. It took the 3 of us about 30-35 minutes to assemble the pieces (it would have taken about 1/2 the time if we had a 2nd allen wrench and screwdriver of the correct size).
Trying it out
After assembly, I hopped on the treadmill, getting the speed up to about 9 mph. The motor felt smooth and wasn't very loud, although the noise from the foot strikes was a bit loud (to be expected as the speed increases). The running surface had a little bit of a bounce, giving a cushioned feel. Having the long belt surface made me feel pretty confident as I was running, knowing I wasn't in danger of getting near the back edge. As other reviews have mentioned, the console is pretty weak. The main text area is 2 characters, which makes it awkward to read messages as text scrolls by. I really don't understand why the couldn't have made it 3 or 4 characters, which would have made a big difference. I don't really care much about the console for my personal use, but if you are used to big displays like you see on gym machines, you will be very disappointed in this aspect. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Polar heart-rate strap came with the package. After putting it on, the HR started showing up on the console within 10 seconds or so. The fan is also a bit on the weak side. If you get hot while running I think you are better off putting a "real" portable fan in front of the treadmill.
- Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill - First Thoughts
I've had this product for a few days now. Great price with free delivery from Amazon. Shipping was fast and delivery to garage by driver was much appreciated. Assembly was easy with out issues. The bolts are blister packed and assembly tools are included! Machine is quiet, a small "thump" is noted when the belt seam crosses roller - but not a problem. Now - If you are moving upstairs as I did, make sure that you have three or four people. There's no guessing on the weight and it's near 300 lbs. The machine can fold right out of the box, this allows the use of an appliance dolly for going upstairs. It also rolls very easily when folded - the balance is excellent! Great reviews on consumer-reports on-line. I compared Nordictrack (and others)prior to purchase - there's little to compare. If you like ipod connections and "gizzmo" type consoles then OK, this is a much heavier frame all around. I don't think that you can go wrong with this purchase. I'll know more over time....more info
- This Is a Great Treadmill
I bought this through the Gold Box special and could not be more pleased. Delivery was free and fast. The delivery crew even wheeled it around to the back of my house and carried it into the basement for me. The box is huge and heavy. I had a neighbor help me unbox the unit and it took only about thirty minutes to assemble. It is very quiet and has many easily programmable features. I am very happy I pulled the trigger when this landed in the Gold Box....more info
- good treadmill
The product was not too difficult to set-up but did require 2 people to help install the console. It is also very heavy so it won't be moved from it's current location. Both my husband and I use it 3-6x/week and it works great -- very quiet, easy to use. Drawbacks include not being able to adjust the fan on the console to different angles/heights and the console doesn't constantly display time or calories or distance but cycles through the various displays which can be annoying....more info
