Customer Reviews:
  • Great in Small Spaces
I really love this diffuser. It is especially great in small spaces. There not quite as much light as I would have hoped but I am sure I can rectify that buy getting the optional insert that doubles the amount of direct light. ...more info
  • Great Buy

  • It works!
I am a serious amateur photographer and I have assisted local professionals as a "second shooter" at large weddings. Indoors, the Lightsphere does a great job of diffusing flash harshness, giving a nicer, more natural look than other similar products (like Stofen). Also, it is very light weight so I can carry it for an 8 hour event without wearing myself out. Outdoors, its benefit is minimal. Most criticism of this device on the serious photography forums comes from those who resent Gary Fong's (the inventor) fast-talking, "look at me--I'm rich" personality. If you separate Fong's personality from the product and let the resulting excellent image quality speak for itself, I think you will find that this product is a winner and deserves a place in your camera bag.

P.S. Note to Gary Fong... nobody (except maybe your trophy wife) is impressed by the ostentatious display of wealth on your website... the mansions, the speedboats, the jets, etc. FYI, individuals with REAL monetary wealth do everything possible to maintain a low profile.... drop the act pal....more info
  • It works....
While it's an expensive piece of plastic (hence only 4 stars), it works and produces excellent results!...more info
  • Made me look like a pro
I received my clear Lightshpere on Friday and was scheduled to shoot wedding pictures for a friend on Sunday. I watched the DVD that comes with the Lightsphere on Saturday afternoon and in 10 minutes I was ready to shoot those difficult shots like a pro.
The newlyweds wanted me to shot some pictures of them at the local lake front park, which meant shooting against a very bright background. The tips I got from the Gary Fong's DVD made it so easy to get great photos.
The Lightsphere lives up to it's claim of giving you studio quality lighting on the fly. If you do any kind of serious photography this item is a must for your gadget bag.
