Product Description

The stylish Z610i quad-band phone blends performance with a uniquely modern design. The sleek mirror finish on the front cover gives the phone a jewel-like quality that is complemented by an external 'magic mirror' display which is only visible when in use. The magic of the Z610i is revealed when a call comes in or the user receives an SMS or MMS message--the hidden external display illuminates, giving the effect that the caller-ID information is floating on the face of the phone itself. This striking phone delivers on its good looks--its advanced feature set includes a 2.0 Megapixel camera and broadband-speed 3G connectivity.

An innovative clamshell cover brings the Z610i to a new level of style.

The 176 x 220 display supports over 260,000 colors.

Take pictures with the built-in 2-megapixel camera. Or, if you have 3G data service, conduct video calls.

Post your photos to your personal blog--directly from your phone.
The impressive external screen is discrete and not apparent until a call, message or calendar event is displayed, while the Z610i's internal 176 x 220 color display supports over 260,000 colors for viewing crisp graphics and full-color photos. Other design features include an internal antenna, and a five-way button just above the dial pad that is used to control most of the phone's menus and features. Up/down buttons on the left side of the phone can be used for quick volume control. USB data and charging ports, as well as a headset port, are also provided.

Calling Features
A call list remembers your most recent missed, received and dialed calls, while the built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included and there's even a bundled application that lets you mix your own ringtones. Picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers. For those times you want to keep things discreet, there's a vibrate ringer mode. And because the Z610i is Bluetooth-enabled, you can use a variety of headsets and handsfree kits for total wireless freedom when you're on the go.

Why not take advantage of the Z610i's fast 3G connection capabilities while making a phone call? The Z610i allows you to use more than just words--make a video call. During a call, you can switch between the video call camera and the main camera, allowing you to show the person with whom you're talking to see what you see.

Messaging, Internet and Tools
The Z610i has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, graphics and pictures and more via MMS messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun.

Because the Z610i supports the GPRS data protocol, getting on the Internet is easy. When used with a carrier data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in browser for mobile web browsing. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the Z610i, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, a to-do list, and an alarm clock with a timer and stopwatch. Sony Ericsson Sync Station software lets you synchronize your Microsoft Outlook calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with your Z610i.

Imaging and Entertainment
No matter where you go with the Z610i you'll be ready to catch the moment. The Z610i has an impressive 2.0-megapixel camera that allows you to snap a picture, and then immediately upload it to your own personal blog page. Picture blogging provides an excellent way to share your experiences with family, friends, and colleagues. The phone comes complete with all the camera settings you need--with the Z610i, your camera blog can be up and running in just a few clicks on the navigation key.

With its large color screen, the Z610i can be your perfect leisure time companion. Challenge yourself to a 3D game while you use the music player to listen to your favorite tracks. All the software you need to copy music from CD to phone is included in the Z610i kit. Store all the music or data files you need and want on Memory Stick Micro. And don't forget, a 64 MB memory stick is even included.

the only thing that I have to say is that the cellphone is brand TIM ( italian operator, this effects the Menu and something about the cellphone' software ) and I was not aware of it before I bought it.

  • Great phone but problems with T-Mobile.
This is a great phone but for some reason it keeps shutting off and then turning back on and says Searching. I think it might have something to do with T-Mobile. Just wanted to warn people that are checking this phone out and also have T-Mobile....more info
  • Always check manufacture's site for specs.
This phone is NOT Quad band - it does *not* support GSM 850....more info
  • Not bad for being an attractive phone
    Good points:
-Works well with Cingular sim card/network
-People comment on its attractiveness, looks cool when people call and when you first call someone

    Bad points:
-Reception is no better than the free phone I got a year ago when I got my cell phone plan (although admittedly, it just may be I have a problem with Cingular in my area of Seattle)
-Defaults on the phone need to be tinkered with, and not all menus are all that intuitive, takes some monkeying to change some features - and the ringtones that come with it are pretty limited
-As pointed out, camera doesn't take great pictures, but few cell phones do

Overall, I do sometimes get irritated with it, but would probably still get it again, because it really is that attractive of a phone.

  • The best mobile I ever had!!!
Well, I have o say this is the best mobile I ever had, and I've had lot of them. I've been hesitating about buying a Sony-Ericsson, because I had a bad experience when the T10 (Ericsson) and T25 (Sony-Ericsson) came out, but this phone is awesome. It comes with a lot of features and besides that, everybody that see my phone gets amazed by its design, it's just BEAUTIFUL and it's so attonishing that everybody likes. Besides that it's not so expensive, I bought it for $300 and I feel it has been a good buying. I recommend it!...more info
  • Good and Basic
the z610i is a stylish, 3G cellphone with video call capacity and a good media player (nothing to envy the walkan phones). Althought the M2 memory card is expensive, it comes with a 64MB card and 20MB internal memory.

The surface is clean and sweet, very fashion, but is a magnet for fingerprints and can be scratched easy.

The 2MP camera is not that good, no autofocus or flash/led. It does not comes with headphones.

Overall, a good phone for women: good and basic.

  • Z610I Review
The Z610i is a very hard phone to rate. This phone attracts majority of its viewers because it (obviously) is eyecandy. This phone boasts its sleek look, OLED external screen, and its built in chrome mirror. The downside of this phone is the fact that the External LCD screen is smaller than you think, the 2megapixel camera is a bit weak, no flash, and the side buttons are hard to press. This phone gives you many great features though, the speakerphone works great, the battery life on this phone is about 7 hours talk time and 2 weeks standby, the bluetooth functionality is great, and there are many addons that this phone can use. If you are ordering this phone, it is not going to be slim like the Razr, Katana, and their competitors but its not too thick either. The phones features are comparible to the A900, A920 by Samsung so don't expect a futuristic phone. On a side note, Sony Ericsson does make a Bluetooth WristWatch that acts as a Caller ID/Music Controller for the phone. In conclusion, the Z610i is sure to attract many peoples eyes and is a perfect phone for those who want to be able to listen to music, and like to talk a long time....more info
