• Good Quality and Nice design
  This VX-7000 provides a good image quality with a higher resolution and also has a nice fancy design. The installation of this webcam is very easy and stable on the top of a stand-alone monitor. Or, this can be stood on the desk. But this can not be installed on the top of notebook PC monitor. If you use Window XP in your computer, Service Pack 2 is required to install this webcam....more info
• High Quality Camera with Great Software
  We have this camera in our living room connected to a 64bit Vista machine running Media Center. We use the camera for videoconferencing with relatives on different sides of the planet *and* for entertaining the kids.
  
  The picture quality is excellent. The camera has great resolution and is able to capture at decent frame rates. The defaults work well out of the box in our home environment (no need to fiddle with the controls, but they do exist). The software also has the nifty ability to zoom and pan, which it can do because the image is large.
  
  The LifeCam 2.0 software available from www.microsoft.com/hardware is simply amazing. It can be used to entertain kids locally or applied to videoconferencing transmissions. The software detects heads in the image and adds in 3D objects, e.g. hats, facemasks, animal faces, and it can add real-time distortions like grow-mouth; and then there are filter effects that change color and texture; and all the cool stuff from v1 of the software. It has our our pre-schoolers and their friends rolling around with laughter.
  
  There are some rumblings in other reviews here about not being able to capture large pictures in high frame rates but it can do 640x480@30fps which is better than TV.
  
  We had some issues with image tearing, but that turned out to be due to the USB controller on the motherboard and could happen to any USB webcam. We bought a PCI card with some extra USB ports on and it fixed the problem.
  
  For comparison, I should mention we own two Macs and have iSight cameras, one external and one integrated into a MacBook Pro. The image quality between the iSights and this camera is indistinguishable and until now I'd have said the iSight's were the best cameras around. The LifeCam software raises the bar on Apple's Photo Booth App, which applies basic filtering to the image, but doesn't do anything as smart as the 3D additions....more info

• A new way of life
  The webcam is wonderful. I had to do some searching around to find how to operate it but once I decided which way was best it took about 15 minutes to be able to talk to my daughter across the United States. Yeah, a definate must to have.

• Great Webcam for the price
  I bought this web-cam for about $46 shipped. Once you follow the the installation instructions, install is a breeze. It works great with no crashes and lots of features. My OS is windows XP, and it runs with no problems so far.
  One thing i noticed with the VX-7000, is that it gets a little warm, even when not in use, but not a concern !

  My sister is the one that told me about the vx-7000. I told my daughters in N.C and S.Cal. They bought one too. It's like being in the same room with them. We have alot of fun with the camera, plus we can now visit every weekend....more info
• Nice but why does one need this
  The Webcam is very good particularly it can be used with Notebook and PC (flat monitor or conventional) due to its base design. The quality is good but I only wonder my purchase because its quality is same as NX-6000 (I also have this) which is available for $25-29. I think if you want to use your Webcam only on notebook first consider NX-6000 before buying VX-7000....more info

• trouble
  I CANNOT GET THE VIDEO TO WORK ON AIM . MY FAMILY USES AIM AND WE CAN VOICE CHAT AND IM. HAVE NO CLUE AND HAVEN'T FOUND ANYONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THE TROUBLE IS. MAYBE I BOUGHT THE WRONG CAMERA ? ...more info
• Workin like a charm but uses a bit more line speed.
  Having used several other webcams, I'd rate this one very positively. The flexibility in lighting is great and the built in mic is pretty good. Connection would be easier with at least two more feet of cord; it's difficult to string it (or any other webcam I've seen) optimally on a full-sized computer desk.
  
  The next step up would be wireless connectivity and signal compaction - but manufacturers don't seem to have figured that out yet....more info

  Good, solid webcam. Works great with Skype. The only moderately annoying issue is when you press the button on the camera (in Windoze), a pop up appears saying "...call button only works with Windows Live Messenger, do you want to install it now"? There may be a way to turn that off without installing Live Messenger but I haven't looked for it because it doesn't bother me....more info

  Product as advertised. I don't want or need a hi-res webcam for my uses; this product fills the bill for a simple-to-operate piece of equipment. And- Amazon is the best. I've ordered countless products from them and have always been completely satisfied....more info

  Excelent Webcam Nice picture with zoom pan and tilt. Built in mike has good sound quality, but sometimes picks up echo from speakers. Flexable mounting options can be hung on most monitors or placed on a flat surface. Included software has some nice features that scans your face and allow you to change facial features. Works well with both Windows XP 32 bit and Windows Vista 64 bit. I have been using this product for over 3 weeks, it has resolved some audio problems I was having when using messenger with my old webcam....more info
