This product should really come with a "how to" DVD. We have now clue how to use it and it doesn't come with anything to give you any guidance....more info
  • Great product at twice the price-read this before buying Bamboo Fun
We bought the blue Bamboo Fun for our 10-year-old. I'm totally impressed by the quality and by how well it works. The best points are:

    * Pressure sensitivity works seamlessly with all programs that
support it, Windows or Mac (we use both)

    * Drawing with a pen is far more natural than drawing with a
    mouse.

    * The zoom wheel on the tablet is amazingly useful, and helps
make up for the small size of the tablet

Here's the purchase recommendation: Unless you are extremely low on funds, buy the Bamboo Fun bundle with the mouse and software, not the cheaper Bamboo:

    * The two button mouse works very well-this was an unexpected
bonus. If you are a laptop user, it's like getting a wireless mouse
free (although the mouse only works on the tablet). I spent two
hours working with the mouse last night, and never missed my
    wired mouse.

    * The bundled software is a solid value. PhotoShop Elements is a
great graphics application, plus you get Corel Painter Essentials
and one more app. Please note that this is not the latest version
of Elements, although Essentials is the latest.

All in all, a wonderful product at a great price that exceeded expectations. If you think you might want a tablet, you can't go wrong with this one. ...more info

  • Bamboo Fun is FUN
I recommend this product. It works nicely with the included software. The mouse is a little big for the small tablet, but still performs well. Overall, it is something you will have to get use to. You can also download paint.net for free if you want another software option....more info
  • Artists dream come true
The Bamboo tablet is so much fun to work with. It takes some practice, so don't give up. The only problem...the directions are all in a foreign language....more info
  • Great addition to your desk!
Fun tool for personalized digital scrapbooking - that's for sure! It does take practice if you aren't use to using a tablet... No complaints - just wish I used it more!...more info

  • An excellent choice for us...
This was purchased as a gift for a 13 yo girl whose favorite medium is ink. She had no previous experience w/a graphics tablet or any of the software included.

So far the tablet has been great. She installed it on her laptop (XP), set everything up and got going with no help. She really enjoys using the tablet as a mouse pad. The size is just right for her drawings and she got the feel for using the tablet and the pen right away. I do not think it would have been as easy for her to use the medium size with such ease. She and her siblings have inadvertently given it a few whacks and dropped the pen a few times but the tablet survived and still works great.

She is mastering the software included, bit by bit. The learning curve is a little steeper there, but definitely I would recommend buying it with the software if you don't have access to a similar one. It's great for the average user.

Overall this has been an excellent value. It imminently usable, tough and fun!...more info
  • Bamboo fun
I do a lot of photography and the pen is very helpful in editing the photos, such as being able to pinpoint a very small area of the photo to work on. The one down side is both the pen and mouse have to be on the pad in the same relationship as the area you are working on. (If you're working on the upper left corner, the pen and/or mouse need to be in the upper left corner.)

I have a small desk and need to move the pad towards me and push the keyboard back.

That's really the only downside. There is a learning curve with the pen, but after a little practice, it's pretty easy. ...more info
  • Bamboo Fun
Use a pen instead of a mouse including click and double click. It will take a bit of getting used to especially because the default setting has a 4 x 6" Bamboo area corresponding to a large monitor screen so small pen movements are amplified on the screen. It is possible to adjust this relationship which should improve making selections in Photo Shop, etc..

It comes bundled with over $100 worth of software incl. Adobe Photoshop Elements 5....more info
  • my review

  • Good little toy for the price.
Bought this for myself because I love drawing with pencils/pens on paper, but havent yet quite gotten the hang of drawing things with a mouse.
This little pad is quite addictive.
Takes a little getting used to though because of the rather small area you have to work in.
I'd give it a full 5 stars if not for that.
Ease of use seems to be the way they tried going, but it can be a bit awkward/cramped feeling from time to time when you're trying to get a line just right only to notice the line was just cut short because your stylus went out of the little rectangle.
Still, an altogether solid product, and seems very good for the price.
Seems to me like it would be best used though to touch up and finalize images after first drawing them on paper and then scanning the image....more info
