Customer Reviews:

  • OK but not Great
I purchased this TV mainly for the QAM tuner it has and it was a great price at a Black Friday sale. The TV has a great picture as long as your not looking up at it. I mounted this TV on the wall in front of me where my computer desk is located. I must say that unless your looking at this TV directly straight on your picture is dark. I noticed the view angle is not that good. Secondly a QAM tuner is useless. This was also stated when I called Sharp and inquired why I was not getting mu digital channels from Comcast. In short do not expect to get your digital channels from your cable provider because most scramble the signal digital channels are sent out on so you will need a box to get them therefore rendering the QAM tuner useless. This was one of the main reasons I got this TV. The QAM tuners are going the way of the TV's with Cable Cards. I just found out that most manufacturers stopped making TV's with a cable card slot in 2006. Sad to say because my 2006 Sony with cable card slot allows me to get the digital and high def channels without a cable box. I guess the cable companies are pleased with that decision....more info
  • "A Great Little TV & DVD Player"
Overall this TV and DVD player is awesome for a bedroom, kid's playroom, kitchen, or small space. The sound quality is excellent, especially for watching movies on the DVD player.

The picture is very good with the non-HDTV channels, while it is near perfect on the HD channels and watching movies on the DVD player, but you can tell it is 720p.

The 22-inch screen is just right for our bedroom. The TV was easy to setup and it makes a great secondary TV in the house. I have a dish so I do not use the remote that came with the TV, but I did notice that on the TV's remote there is no channel return button (???), which is strange. Of course it does have a lot of options for running the DVD player, which my dish's remote does not have.

Also, I have not really noticed much lag time between changing channels. However, when I turn on the TV there is about a 7 to 10 second warm up I guess, because the screen just stays black even though the light is green indicating that the TV is on.

Overall, Sharp has made a winning product base-line series. The price was right from Amazon.com, and all I can say is I am happy that I made this purchase....more info

  • Fabulous television
We were actually looking for a 20" Sharp for our kitchen but found this instead. This is even better, and fits (by a hair) under our upper cupboards. The control buttons are located on the left side of the set for easy access. The picture is stunning and this television picks up digital stations in our area without a converter box. It is very competitively priced. I highly recommend this product....more info
  • Great for Home Gym and/or Guest Room
Pros : Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Good Connection Options, Good color

Cons : Image a little dark when viewed from above or below, Poor Sound, Limited Shadow Detail

Best Uses : Home Gym or secondary TV set.

I set this up in a home gym/guest room, for which it works perfectly.
The Peerless stand, although design-flawed somewhat, works great to get
the screen to a height that can be seen from the elliptical trainer and
then can be re-adjusted to accommodate guests. It is the only stand of
its type that I was able to find.

I think the color was good right out of the box. The movie "Gladiator"
looked deep, contrasty, and colorful just as it was intended to look,
although the blacks don't have quite enough levels. Sometimes it's a
little too dark in the shadows. But overall the colors are true and
    vibrant.

It's nice that the TV automatically switches to the DVD player when you
insert a DVD. This TV has excellent side-to-side viewing angles, but not
so great when viewed from above or below, where it gets very dark. You
must have this TV placed at eye-level to see the picture.

Despite these minor drawbacks, I am happy with this set for my gym/guest
room, and you can purchase without worry. Just don't buy this as a
primary TV set. I used AMEX points to purchase for FREE!

  • Sharp 22" LCD TV
I am very pleased with this TV. Picture quality is excellent. Sound is very good for bedroom. Also perfect size for watching from 5' to 10'(22")DVD picture quality is great and plays DVD's that I have recorded from another room. Remote takes a little getting used to. But all in all I'm very pleased....more info
  • Excellent Value
Purchased this Black Friday, so only have had a couple days. Will update if anything changes. This LCD-DVD is an excellent value. The picture is crisp. You don't need 1080p at this size, as 720 is just fine. The tuner is excellent - picking up all local stations where my toshiba 32" HDTV picks up two less. DVD works quickly and performs well. Controls are easy to use. Remote is better than most that are typically included with TVs. Very happy so far....more info
