  • Awesome mini!
I absolutely love this little laptop! I was looking for something that I could bring with me everywhere, so I could always have my novel-in-progress with me to work on. It is everything I could possibly want. The keyboard is just the right size, not too small that I can't type properly, and the screen is perfect. Normally I'm a Mac girl, but I haven't been too impressed with their laptop keyboards and the price tag. For the couple hundred dollars I spent on this I get everything I need. I can't think of any reason not to love it....more info
  • What a great little travelling companion!
We absolutely love our new Acer netbook; we saw it a local box store but was already sod out. I came home, searched online and found it at Amazon. We purchased it for travelling as my laptop is just too heavy to lug around with the new limited luggage capabilities on most airlines. It works wonderfully, even has a built in camera for skyping which is very important to international travellers to save on long distance calls. It does everything we need - allows us to check our e-mail wherever we are, and even came in handy recently when my husband was hospitalized and having e-mail withdrawl while he was bed bound. The hospital had WiFi so we hooked him right up! I heartily recommend this product for anyone who just wants easy access to e-mail with little weight and its so small it can even fit in my large purse. We love it....more info

  • Excellent small netbook
Initial setup went well (albeit a bit slow), including networking. FYI, I purchased another Acer 10.2" netbook (which I returned) & it was impossible to get that computer linked to my home network. Acer tech support was useless. They had almost no knowledge and very little patience. But the 8.9" is fine. The keys are a little small (there's room on the unit for larger keys) & the touchpad enter key should be (only 1) on the right, but that's nitpicking. 6 cell battery extends battery life to about 8 hours. Wow! But the netbook also becomes a lot heavier with a bulky battery. The very usable & nice Senyx Acer 8.9" netbook case can't handle the additional bulk. Beautiful LCD screen & big hard drive. Much better value than other competing netbooks.
Very nice product (as long as you don't have to deal with tech support): Recommeded...more info

  • not disappointed
Have had it for a month and just LOVE it. Had read all the reviews here first. Display is amazing, does not seem small at all. So easy to just throw in my purse, even tho I did buy the case. Do not like the keyboard "Mouse" but don't like any of them, so bought a wireless notebook mouse with a tiny receiver and it is great. I have recommended this to everyone I know. For me it is an additional laptop, lack of cd/dvd drive is key, tho could buy an external drive as many have. I love it!...more info
  • Thanks Amazon
My Acer Aspire One AOA-150-1635 was delivered on time; after I set it up it worked fine for 30 minutes then the left click button gave it up and the wireless LAN started working irregularly. I called ACER customer service who had me try a variety of fixes to no avail. They then said to return it for repair not replacement and said it would take approx. two weeks.
I then called Amazon who were great! They sent me a an email with a free shipping label for the return and arranged for a new Aspire One sent the next business day all for no cost to me!
I buy from Amazom a lot and have always had good service, but this was incredible! In addition to the speed and efficiency, the service people were very personable and concerned--I will be an Amazon client for life.
PS-The Aspire One works great and is beyond my expectations--a wonderful netbook!...more info
  • Packs a Punch!
I just received my Acer One as a gift last week. I think I'm in love. This little "guy" can do just about everything my full size laptop can do. It came with a free trial to Microsoft Office, but I downloaded [...] onto mine. I also downloaded Mozilla Firefox and have noticed no changes on in speed.

I do some traveling and love to hangout at Starbucks or Barnes and Noble having my coffee and doing computer work. I also do Internet research for [...]so I had to download some special plug-ins and everything has been working perfectly.

The only thing this little guy is missing is a DVD player, but who really needs that on such a little machine? If I really need to watch something to relax, there are many TV channels that now show full episodes right online, so I can get my fix for free entertainment.

    Pros:
    Lighweight (only about 2 pounds)
    Full-power
    3 usb ports
ac power or battery (good for about 2.5 hours)
    webcam built in
    microphone built in
    several colors to choose from

    Cons:
None that I have found so far.

I think this is a great computer for its price (under $300 including tax). I think this would be a great computer to give a student, a mom, or anyone who likes to be mobile.

  • great notebook
I received my notebook about a month ago. I use programs like excel, word, corel draw, matlab, ... I usually run 2-3 of these programs plus download files from the internet and listen to music on the notebook at the same time. I have not had any problems. However, my wife bought a similar notebook and had a boot problem (hardware) after about 2 months and had to send it back to be fixed. Hers is working fine now, but we had to reinstal all the programs, since they had changed the motherboard and reinstalled the windows and formatted the hard disk.

Overall, I strongly suggest buying this notebook. The price is cheap, the keypad is not too small, the quality of the monitor is fine, even the sound is not as bad as the reviews I read on the web.

  • Love this little netbook
This little net book actually performed better than my Sony Laptop.(2.74ghz).
I don't understand it being listed as a single core processor though, because in the device manager it shows as a dual core. Deleted the McAfee in favor of an anti virus that doesn't suck up so many resources, and got rid of the "trial" programs, and this baby runs great. Not slow at all. It is also extremely easy to take it with you. Much easier than a full size laptop. Three usb ports for easy addition of thumb drive or external dvd rom drive. Overall, I would recommend this netbook. ...more info
  • Acer One netbook-XP home-8.9 inch screen
This replaces a Dell laptop whose age (6 yrs) was showing. I'm pleased with it. Not really any slower than the Dell, boots up much faster. It runs all my programs, including Adobe lightroom2.

Battery life not long, but small size is worth it. Very small and lightweight power brick....more info

I love my new computer. It does everything I need it to do. I am planning a trip to Europe and this will easily go with me. Many people have commented on how small it is and cannot believe that it is a computer. I also like that it comes in pink. ...more info
  • It works great considering how small it is.
When I recieved this, I was first surprised with how small it was. It also came with a mouse that works very well.

All in all, I would say that this is a good netbook. It's very light, Lighter than most of my textbooks, and smaller than most of them as well!

It can handle some of the lower requirement videogames also, although it isn't made for gaming, which I found nice because I can just go on it to kill time whether or not there is internet access....more info
  • Acer Netbook REview
The Acer Inspire One 8.9 inch netbook worked right out of the box. We had no trouble setting it up or acessing the internet even from far away in our house. The product is super light, and even with all of the accessories it is still very light. We already have a laptop, but the purpose of this purchase is ease of portability compared to our old laptop. It is just what we were looking for to travel with. It also give us a computer on the other side of our house that does not take up much space on a desk. Having easy internet access and the availability of a spreadsheet and word processing program already loaded on to the computer gives us everything that we need for traveling purposes. The ability to carry a flash drive and connect to this computer is also a plus. It is a very versatile machine in a nice compact, light weight package. So far we have enjoyed the computer and have encountered no problems with the unit....more info
  • Surprising small computer
Purchased this to run Delorme mapware w/GPS in auto. Larger screen than the portable GPS (Magellan). The Delorme application w/the Acer Aspire allows me to view full route thereby being able to make sure it is not taking me on wierd roads to get to destination. Magellan does not always pick suitable routes and could cause problems in some cases if you did not have some idea of where you were or where you were heading and by the time you figure out you are not on the correct road (even tho it would eventually get you there) you might have missed the proper turn by several miles. Anyway, the Acer Aspire works great with the GSP and was a pleasent surprise overall. Reasonably fast, good graphics and bought an air card to access internet while traveling which also works great. Neat little computer...more info

We turned on the computer which is a gift for my father in low B-day, and it never gave video. Seems something is wrong and cannot turn on the screen. I will return this back inmediatly. I bought another ACER netbook and is working amazing.. but this one really disapointed me....more info
  • This is an excellent computer!
I was incredibly shocked by the quality of this computer, considering the price. I thought it was going to be a throw-away computer because it was so cheap, but it actually runs faster than my old laptop and doesn't overheat easily. Also, there is a ton of hardrive space so I was able to install all of my Microsoft programs without slowing it down at all. I love how portable this computer is,I carry it in my purse and can always access the internet. The mouse that came with it is nice because or else it is frustrating, but the keypad is not hard to get used to at all, I had it down in ten minutes. The only thing I don't like is that the built-in microphone is no good. When I talk to my boyfriend on Skype, he says it sounds like I am popping popcorn in the background. So I plugged in my old logitech webcam and use the microphone on that, and the video from the built-in webcam. Although the battery did last for about 3 hours when I first bought it, it wears down quickly. I think I will buy the 6-cell battery for it later. Overall though, I am VERY pleased with this computer. I may not get a MAC after all. :)...more info
