Customer Reviews:

  • Not for use with an antenna.
I bought this TV because the switch to DTV will soon be required. I use an OMNI directional TV antenna that I've been happy with for 3 analog TVs (concurrently). With this new COBY TV I can only get the analog channels. Per everything I've read, there is nothing about an antenna that makes it either hd, digital, or analog. It's all marketing hype. The TV tuner determines whether it receives hd or not. This Coby has a built in HTSC tuner which is supposed to turn it into HDTV. It's not working! I get only analog stations....more info
  • Good Buy
Got these LCD HDTV/Monitor because in was a good price. Sound is ok, but for the price you can't ask for to much. Will hook up extra speakers for better sound. The LCD HDTV/Monitor has a nice gloss black finish. Had the TV for a month now and with no problems. I give it 4 stars.
Good TV for the price....more info
  • Great little TV
Bought this TV for my Wife and wall mounted it in kitchen. It is a great little TV. We where worried when we saw it was the glossy type screen, thinking it may have glare, but when the unit is on I don't notice any glare or reflections....more info
  • An excellent small TV
I purchased this 15" TV as a kitchen counter TV for my wife. It took only 10 minutes to set it up and scan for the cable channels. Picture quality is better than average, sound quality is what you'd expect from such small,
light speakers. We'll look to COBY to replace our old bedroom TV....more info
  • Not worth it
This TV does not work with universal remotes. In 2009 that is totally ridiculous. You will be better off buying another brand....more info

  • Great Little TV
I bought this TV to install in my conversion van. It works great for the application and was the right price. I'm very pleased with the TV, the viewing angle from right to left is pretty good. The veiwing angle from top to bottom could be a little better, but I installed the TV on a bracket to be able to tip the tv angle down a bit and that problem was solved. The volume on the tv doesn't get that loud, but it works. Overall I would say if you're looking for a cheap small tv, this one works good....more info
  • Great cheap little TV
I bought this for background interest while I'm dyeing or carding in my fiber studio. I agree that it's limited in the viewing angle & the sound is pretty low and tinny, but for a $135, it's just right for my use. So far, I haven't used it for HD, just DVDS & my Roku player. If you're viewing head-on, the picture is crisp and beautifully saturated, and the sound is fine (I'd call it about medium cranked all the way up) if you don't need it too loud. If you're in a loud or white noise heavy environment (e.g., lots of fans), it might be too quiet. For an extra TV that you just want for background viewing in the kitchen, studio or office (I discovered years ago that shifting your focus from your monitor to a TV screen a few feet away will prevent/reverse eye strain), it's just right & the price is dandy....more info
  • Please, save the money for something better, or get a used one from a reputable brand
I will return this one back tomorrow, and swallow the shipping cost. The main complaint, other than the poor picture quality (I expected that with this brand and cost), is that if you live in a rural area, and if you can only rely on antenna, you are doomed with this machine.

As people use antenna may know, each channel has it's own antenna angles. That is, you switch the channel and adjust the antenna. With this TV, it only accepts pre-scanned channels. That is, it scans the whole spectrum with one antenna orientation, save the channels and done. Yes, it is convenient. But after that, you cannot do anything to it. You cannot "enter" a channel (such as 7.1) when the channel number is not previously saved. You cannot try to adjust the antenna to tune in a channel that is not previously saved first. HOW STUPID IS THAT?

But if you have cable service and want to take this one, yes, you can. But for anyone in our situation, please, try something else. Our Sony is much better to allow us enter any channel number we want and it tries to tune in. Even the digital TV converter works better than this Coby TV. ...more info
  • Great Bargain
We purchased this television to take camping. My 19-year-old son has been using it to play games on his X-Box. He raves about the clarity. The price, $139.99, can't be beat! It's a great deal!...more info
  • Coby TV
I like my new TV. Perfect for my kitchen. The color is fine, the sound is fine. The only problem (if you can call this a problem) is that the remote control is very sluggish. The TV has a very slow response to the remote....more info
  • Coax cable input was loose
When we got this unit we found that the coax cable input was loose and did not accept a signal so we had to return for repair...more info
